I am just wondering how many here actually believe in ghosts or that sort of thing. I have only ever had one experience that was slightly ghostly and it happened in my uncles house. Other family members have said to have seen what they thought were ghosts there too, which is kinda neat.
This one time when my aunt and I were up in the attic cleaning out some stuff there was one spot in the corner where there was this big old wicker baby carriage, and every time we went in that corner our flashlight would go out. So I don't know that that would classify as a ghostly encounter...but I have always wondered.

Okay, I believe!
Back when I went to church, a group was going carolling, I was going to go but I had strep. So I stayed behind in the basement of the church while everybody left, my sister stayed with me. So it was just me and my sister in this room in the basement of a church, I was laying down on the couch and my sister was watching tv. Anyhoo, we heard cabinet doors opening and slamming shut so we went to see if somebody came back. And when we went to the kitchen, the cabinets stopped opening and closing, but then as we turned the light off in the kitchen one of the cabinets swung open and a stainless steel mixing bowl fell out. It was really creepy, so we got out of the basement as soon as we could and waited outside in the freezing cold for the rest of the people to come back. |

I have lots of things that have happened, and not one of them has a logical reason. Only last week my gf Andrea shouted me to goto into our kitchin. When i got there she said "look at the bag" - i looked down and there was this zipper part of the bag just shaking madly. I said to Andrea "its just because you've moved it".
Andrea hadn't moved the bag and we watched the zipper move for over 5 minutes, so i moved the bag and held onto the zipper to make it stop. As soon as i let go the damn thing started again, then stopped for a few seconds then started again. This lasted for about 10 mins. Then the weirdest thing of all...as we left the kitchin the bag fell onto the floor, i had placed it by the taps at the rear of the shelf! - we both looked at eachother like a couple of cartoon characters in a film and ran into the living room lol. We thing our house is haunted anyway, but i dont mind it really, sometimes its comforting as it/they/things arn't harming anyone. Ive had LOTS of other things happen, perhaps when i have time i will write them down. Good thread Andrea. :lalala: dave.

Trust me to get all politically correct but I can't pick any of the choices.
I consider myself an open minded sceptic. I have experienced things but I don't totally believe but I don't disbelieve either. I need that real WOW experience. Haven't had that yet. |

I've had a numbetr of encounters with the paranormal, but the one i remember more than any took place when I was about 10 or 11. I was sleeping in my mom's room, lights off, the rrom dimly lit form light commig in from the doorway. I had some trouble sleeping, tossing a bit, so I was fully awake for what happened next.
I looked toward my mother's mirror over her dreser, and literally crawling on the mirror was i believe to have been a demon of some sort. It was small, lizard lilke, had webbed feet, and it's eyes glowed dimly. It took notice of me, growled, and jumpoed off the mirroe toward me. I quickly pulled the blanket over my head. My mothre had a headboard with a mirroe on it was well, so iassume it just mirror hopped or something like that. Very freaky, very true, I do not lie!!!!!! :shudder: |

ugh, that is creepy! you know there are times when i really can't bring myself to look in the mirror at night, all because of that dumb Bloody Mary game, and I know it's not real, but some nights i am like
wo, dont look!! but that demon thing is pretty freaky

I totally beleive from one of the most chilling sights i'v ever seen...
It was a cold dark night....lol, nah seriously, it was about gone 1:30am and about 7 of me chums and i thought we make a stop at the most haunted place in England Borley Rectory for a doss about....now before you actually get to this place theres an old country road and a wardens house to sneak past (to ward off all the dossers like us, who want a quick spook) :P then a dark sealed off old lane which leads to the remains of this rectory. On our way down this lane me m8 Matt noticed a heavy mist to our left which you could see on the horizon from where the nearest town was Sudbury i think!? further down this lane the mist vanished to our left and now was all in front of us (romours have it a Black Dog with red eyes called 'Black Shuck' rides a thick mist in this area of Essex) I never saw this dog but Shane claimed he did...(bollocks did he see it) Dan, Matt and Kye got real scared and wanted to go no futher  once at the Rectory itself....everything was quiet except whispers.....lots of whispers all around the old grounds there, lots of invisible voices sweeping past your very ears and then fading and coming back again, could'nt make out what it was saying....but until the mist started to create some figure of what looked like a ghost before our very eyes, we eer did'nt really stay much longer to find out what it was, as we were half way up the lane "running" back to the cars like a bunch of stupid teenagers  I could describe this 'event' much better to you in person (obviously) but just typing this sends shivers down my spine just remembering it all :shudder: :shudder:
