Default Favourite Jewel Song to Cry To?

Okay, first off, we all do it, we're humans. AND THIS WAS NOT MY IDEA.

My brother's a huge Prince fan, and he said that people have discussed (forum?) what is their favourite Prince Song to cry to.

Mine being "Sometime It Snows In April", because of the death of his son. If you don't cry when understanding that song and hearing it knowing it's meaning, you're not human. My brother usually crys during any live performance of "Purple Rain". Last month, Super Bowl, I had on my purple smoking jacket, and had my buddies around, couldn't hold it in, so beautiful. It's beuaitful, man. (No brother jokes, either, I've watched him lift four hundred pounds off the floor and military press it, so....he's a strong man physically, but Prince makes him weep.)

Time to swallow your pride (because their were worse choices I could have chosen for favourite song), and tell the world.

I'll start. I'm not a cryer, I was taught to hold in all emotion especially in public, but then I get home in the quiet, dark, it's another story, especially after a hard hit on the tumbler.

I've found "Angel Needs A Ride" quite restorative, but after nigthmares (which freqeuntly recur) "Angel Standing By" is especially nice to get me to nod back off to sleep. "Angel Needs A Ride" is especially nice, because it has "I'm tired and I'm lonely, and I just need somebody by my side", in it, which is another mirroring of me.

"Daddy", because I see similarities in the mirroring of our feelings. I had father like that. The first time I heard that song, I froze in my chair and actually froze with the similar feelings.

Off Jewel, I told you my Prince choices, and I actually remember "Hello" by Lionel Richie.

For those of you who don't get it yet, this is for total embarrassment of one's self, and to prove that I'm human, because all humans cry, and I just realized that it was normal, for me this is a breakthrough, which is why I want to know if anyone else here has a 'cryer' song.

Please advise.

Up Spirits! (But don't cry in your beer)

Ummm, I don't really cry to any of her songs, but I have been thinking "I've been down so long, that the end must be drawing near"
That's strictly financially speaking, not like suicidally depressed stuff

FINALLY, we got one! One person who admitted! Thanks for that, because I know a guy who told me that it was okay to cry, but I've been trying it reccently, as he told me it's a biological cleansing, and I'm working on it.

Hey, it's not that I am not admitting to crying, because as I lock myself in the bathroom and bawl over circumstances I think, well it can't be much longer...
All I'm saying is that just sitting there listening to the song doesn't turn on the water works.

Songs that make me cry:

"Nikos"-There's a live recording of this I have that's a real tear jerker. Her voice sounds really beautiful and melancholy and the lyrics tell such a sad story. Jewel's a real trooper for dealing with it and forgiving her dad, if my dad did such a thing I don't know how I ever would have forgiven him.

"Amen"
"Everything Breaks"
"Last Dance Rodeo"
"1000 Miles Away" (Shiva Diva Doo-Wop version)
"She Cries"

These once are sad but I don't remember if they ever made me cry:
"Adrian"
"Foolish Games"
"Painters"
"Daddy"
"Emily"/"Jessica" (ok has anyone noticed that "Emily" and "Jessica" are pretty much the same song? "Emily" sounds like a cut-and-paste of both new parts and parts taken straight from "Jessica")

"Emily" does it for me, too, for it reminds me of someone I lost.

'Everything Breaks" another good one to cry to.

I don't lock myself in the bathroom, though, as there's no one here to criticize me for crying, unless the four walls surrounding me can talk. If they do, then I'm in real trouble.

Nothing wrong with crying, though. I've found that before listening to Jewel's music, I didn't cry, I was trained to have a non emotional view on thihngs, never to let them see me bleed, almost sociopathic. But since I've listened to her stuff, it just flows out, like Niagra Falls, can't help it.

And no one else is here to say otherwise, but the funny thing is that sometimes I'll be crying, and the phone wiwll ring, and I'll deepen my voice extremely and sound really ticked off when I answer the phone, "HELLO!!!!"

it's fine to do it, just not in view of othehr's and definitely not in prison, but other than that, it's okay.

I ALWAYS FEEL LIKE, SOMEBODY'S WATCHING ME! And i have no privacy.

I cried when I first heard Violet Eyes--it was at my first Jewel concert and I was there with my best friend. I knew the story behind the song even though I had never actually heard the song. So I just bawled thinking about my friendships and how awful it is to lose somebody--plus it is such a beautiful song. I tear up occasionally to Life Uncommon because I find it so inspirational.

I've never heard "nikos" before... does anyone have it on YouTube or anything??
