That will be fun to go to NYC, we'll miss ya while you're gone! I haven't visited NYC myself since I was little, my aunt used to live there and I always loved the Alice in Wonderland statue, and the carousel.
Be safe! Have fun!
(gee do I sound like a mom??)

It must be some school thing you're doing, right?

Well, if your mind sparks, and you possibly don't hold it agasint Turnbull and Asser becuase I shop with them for my clothing, you might want to have a look if you are not with a group at one time. I'm not trying to force youto go into their, but I think that if you do elect to go inside, you'll be quite satisfied with what you find. They catered all of Winston Chruchill's clothes, and every actor to play James Bond, they did all of Sean Connery's clothes (even to this day, they still have a few bespokes for him), Roger Moore, George Lazenby (who also shops there), Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan(he was wedded in a Turnbull and Asser shirt, and wore Turnbull's as 007, not Brioni, despite the classification and fixation with the Italian iconoclast mogul), and Daniel Craig. THey made me the exact same shirt as a limited edition bespoke that he wore for the newest Bond outting, Casino Royale. They also do shirts for Prince Charles, William, and Harry. They are crowned by the Queen of England as the official shirtmaker and haberdasher. THey have a well built reputation and have much accolade all over the fashion industry. Again, I'm not forcing you to do anything, but I think if you pass their store, you might thank me and yourself later on for stepping inside. This is just a thought, and it is a good investment for your money. If you do look at their displays and sample clothing, you'll be truly impressed with the quality. (Hint: check out the Sea Island Cotton shirts.)

THese are a few men they cater to, if you find yourself there, I urge you to check it out. Just don't speak to Simon, he's a little bit of a pain sometimes.

Oh, and by the way, I can't believe you'd actually take a disapproval on my reputation points because you don't like the thread. Frankly, it's not your place to do that, as I have disagreed with MANY of your posts before outside of this thread, and yet I've never taken a single point from a user on this forum.

Have fun in NY? Don't get mugged.

actually, members can pretty much add or take rep points when they feel moved to, but only a certain amount a day--not sure how much that is, but after I have given points to however many people it tells me I have to wait 24 hours before giving more reps...

Not that I'm arguing with you, Andrea, but I was under the assumption that rep points were to be added or taken away only when the situation was very strong. Like you REALLY agreed or disagreed with someone (Like, if I used a four letter word that begins with the letter 'F', in a post). I didn't think it was such a light hearted thing. I only add good rep points to users. As Kiera, CHristie, Crawf, any one of them will tell you.

ALso, please refer to the "reptuation Points" thread.

At the moment, it is simple. If you like a post/thread, then you can reward the member with a reputation point a leave a message as to why. Incidentally, it works both ways, you can also remove a point if you are particularly incensed by the post and think the member should have a point removed. Though I doubt we'll have any problems with that. I ask members to be very careful with the whole thing and make sure that you don't take points away unless it is really called for. I am really just trying out the new scheme so if it looks like it is being abused, though I doubt it will, it will be removed.

I see it as a good thing because people will know when others like their posts and get rewarded with points.

Some members have already been using this feature which is why I left it running. Please note that I have no time frame of when I will be finishing the whole scheme as I have a lot of other projects on right now. I hadn't wished to draw attention to it yet but as you've raised the question, I hope this post sheds some more light on it.

Well, i.m.o. if Jessica really disagreed with you that much then it was well within her member -privileges?- to use the rep system. If you really feel that you were mistreated in the use of it then by all means take it up with Dave or Kiera.

I'm not that concerned about it, however I don't lilke having a black mark on my profile, but I simply put her on my Ignore list, and it's gone. Nice solution. I'd rather not sit here and blabber on with some girl who has no justification on arguing with a thread that I started and had a just reason in posting, as a member priviledge on this forum. Nothing more, nothing less; just acknowledging the ability to exercise my rights. (Guess that attitdue of 'exercising rights' I'm used to with my job.)

Hey, I won't let someone spoil my flow, ruin the growth, break my stride, mess my stuff up. NOt happening, just click the Ignore button, and 'POOF!', they're gone, no more problems.

Like I said, "I was gonna go, now I'm not leaving!"

As far as me deferring members, I want names. Name me one, gimme a reason!!!! You can't, because their are none. Name one. I defy you, perhaps other than yourself, which would prove beneficial for this thread, being that there was no argument on this thread until you showed up.

Any takers?

the beauty of the ignore setting Jessica is that once you put someone on your ignore list, you don't actually have to see their posts anymore, all you see is their name and a little blurb about how the forum has blocked that post because the person is on your ignore list
and voila, the forum can be a pleasant place again! well, of course except for other peoples remarks to or about the person...
