Great stuff Michael...
I can REALLY use that.

I might as well stick with the incompetent Walking Zombie Mr CC...
at least he actually provided numbers.(as useless as they were) :D

Go Mike. :clapjoy:

Hey, I warned you to check my numbers. I've NEVER followed the charts. If I hear a song played too often I get tired of it fast. And I may be incompetent, but at least I'm not intrepid. :P I could never be that. ;)

I say 0304 has NOT gone platinum in the US, ie has sold less than 1 million. Anybody dispute that? I'm very curious of anybody knows. Sure they say it went gold in one month, but that's not hard to do for someone who has sold 25 million CD's worldwide per Jewel's official website. To sell half a million CD's in the US is impressive, but like it or not 0304 is only moderately successful in my view.

Like I told you Justin the record companies don't publish hard numbers unless it makes them look good. Anybody out there subscribe to Billboard? I'm not willing to pay them $150 just to read their charts.

the actuality numbers are only referenced to what i heard from other sources....the certification numbers are still there as well! that's what i also wanted him to look @ - that certification is what they use for the 25 million records worldwide, even though we all know it's more ...they just don't really find it necessary to declare something more platinum like spirit when they aren't really promoting it. and we all know how well they promoted this way and 0304, who knows what they really are @ now.....

by the way...i'll change the actuality remarks to RUMORs soon or something  since you aren't going to believe me.... i've heard somewhere that spirit was near 7x...that's what i can definitely remember. i was putting a question mark behind the POY one b/c it was an estimate.... it's probably near 13 million...they still promote the hell out of that album b/c it was a big seller and still is...and if that's true that they overshipped...well....they want to move more...there u go! does that help to clarify my intentions?

Michael:

I'm glad I'm not the only one having trouble finding accurate information.

At least we're all in the dark together, but you people need to stop hogging all the covers. :P :o

...

Try these ten steps Mike...

1. Pick up the phone.

2. Ring Warner/Atlantic America

3. Ask to speak to the Label Manager

4. Ask the Label Manager nicely, "May I have the complete Jewel CD sales statz please"

5. She will say, "Can I get back to you... I have to do a little research?"

6. You reply, "That's OK, whenever you're ready... thank you very much.".

7. She'll then say, "You're Welcome". (That's the American version of "No worries")

8. Next day answer the phone to listen to the Nice Label Manager Lady as
she tells you the statz. Then she'll say, "Would you like me to email them
to you also?", and you'll reply, "That's very kind of you".

9. Check your email and sure enough: the 'Nice American Label Manager Lady' has
sent the statz. Just like the 'Nice Australian Label Manager Lady' did for the ASPCJ.

10. Then, you STUPID INCOMPETENT BUM, send them to the ASPCJ so I can fix the page up properly !!! :bang:

Easy... Justin ;) ;) ;)

This is even possible? Like they're going to talk to me. Even if I can find the phone number. America is a big place. What d'ya think I'm a journalist or something? I'm an incpompetent Jewel fan. I'll likely get put on a watch list of Jewel stalkers. Heck I tried to get some information about Jewel's cousin and her PR firm told me she doesn't want any publicity right now.

Tell you what. You get me the phone number and I'll call them at my earliest convenience. Now remember that it's a weekend over here Lizard-boy.

...I need a raise to put up with this. All your cyber-wives/girlfriends have ditched you multiple times. Ever heard the expression "The only consistent thing in all your failed relationships is YOU"? ;)

Ahh... but Princess Angel Eyes has just promised ETERNAL love... B)
and... who was it who said: "Eternity is a long time, Sunshine" ???

Hey Angel Eyes...

As you have witnessed, Mike is as useful as an abandoned suitcase in an Iraqi restaurante.
He sent about a dozen emails with heaps of confusing links and countless useless statz. :bang:

So Tracy, it's up to you, our Kilcherian Princess.

Can you simply ring/email the Atlantic Label Manager in your nearest capital
city and ask her:

"What is the total number of Jewel's CDs sold in the USA...
figures for both singles and albums."

How easy is that, Tracy ???

Eternal Love, Princess.... Justin

For crying out loud Michael...

How vague is 25 million ???
Is that worldwide or USA ???
Is that including albums and singles ???
What's the breakdown ???

PLEASE... NO MORE AMBIGUOUS CRAP !!!

Warner/Atlantic Australia sent me this after a simple phone call:

AUSTRALIAN STATZ

Albums Sold - 769,377
Singles Sold - 309,107

Total CDs Sold = 1,078,484

Yeah, right down to the last CD

Angel Eyes, Angel Eyes, Angel Eyes...
please rescue me from this madness. :(

I'm supposed to beleive what the record company tells me? Record company spokespeople are a bunch of lying thieves. Make that alleged thieves. I wouldn't want to convict anybody without a trial.

This is the music business we're talking about. They sell ambiguity on small round disks. ;)
