An All New page on the Australian Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Jewel:

http://geocities.com/jewel_australia/JewelGarbage.htmSierra Club Says Jewel's Plan Stinks (http://geocities.com/jewel_australia/JewelGarbage.htm)

Here's what the critics are saying about the ASPCJ's latest page:

"It's like nothing you've seen before, except that it picks on 0304."
-Intrepid Prez"

"It's more fact than fiction this time, I swear. Do the research. Check my sources. It's real. Jewel's a trashy power diva."
-Mr CC

"I don't get it, and even if I did it wouldn't be funny."
-Lord***Monkey

"It's riddled with grammarical and speling errers."
-Kiera

"I don't think it's funny at all, and I liked 0304. Really, I did."
-Michael

"I hate 0304, but get a life."
-Lissa

Despite the majority of this "news" being true, it is just really worthless.

I also hate 0304, but like it was said in the article, the ASPCJ is really running out of reasons to make fun of it, and [unfortunately] there's a good chance they will like Jewel's new album.

I actually like 0304. It's not my favorite Jewel album, but it's OK. It's just meant to give you a reason to read about this power plant plan. Read the real sources. The Clearwater project really is involved in this plan and the Sierra Club posted a negative aticle about Jewel and the plan.

The digs against 0304 are just a side note to the real story. That picture of Jewel meeting with the Premier of BC is a classic photo that is posted on the official British Columbian website. I've spend a month or so researching this and this story has not been broken in any Jewel related source I have seen. It's not worthless - it's a real plan that I think Jewel's fans would want to know about. Personally I have no problem with building power plants or burning garbage. It makes sense to me as long as it's done such that the release of air and water pollution is minimized. As you are aware energy costs have climbed rapidly. Burning trash instead of oil makes sense. It's like recycling.

Thanks Dave. Even if only a few people understand it, I appreciate those that do. I enjoy your site. And as always the Jewel forums are great. :lovejkf:

When I thought of burning garbage, I immediately thought of the air pollution it would cause...that will definately have to be reduced.

Hey, I'm just another critic for that quote of yours. ;)

And I thank you for your input. We all have varied opinions about a variety of topics. We can't all agree. By the way - I made up *all* those quotes in the first post. :P B) ;)

And as far as air pollution. This is a former pulp mill. I've lived near pulp and paper mills. They stink far worse than burning garbage. Usually you can smell a pulp mill from 40 miles downwind. Also today's environmental technology and regulations severely limit emmissions from these types of facilities. They use scrubbers to clean the smokestack gasses to remove heavy metals, carbon monoxide, and other pollutants. It's right to watch the government regulators to make sure they follow the rules. People need electricity, and is it better than putting garbage in the ground or worse - dumping it off ocean barges into the deep water. ;)

Besides, garbage landfills pollute the water. Jewel's charity is the Clearwater Project not the Clearair Project. :P ;)

The people in this small town probably have a depressed economy due to the shuting of this plant. They would probably gladly take a little air pollution if it means jobs.

If that is the case, I am absolutely apalled that you did not include me in your fake quotes.

I don't wanna be nitpicky, but I have more posts than Lissa and have been a board member longer (and also have more posts) than lordassmonkey.

That is all.

that doesn't make you worthy dave...lol..or does it? j/k

anyways, is that even real news? i only read part of it b/c it sounds stupid and we all know jewel is environmentalists and for purity, not pollution - especially be it water (clearwaterproject) - just another way for them to get rid of unsold copies of 0304? um - they only shipped what would sell - as there be more demand - they'd ship more and make more - that's how it works - there would be much more 0304 cd's out there if that was the case and i don't really see them - in fact i can see a few - and they are gone not too much later - goes to show it is selling!

oh...i didn't read enough...there is a source...and that being back in 2004 - but see - um.....it says environmentally friendly!!!!!! so that's good :) i say go for it :devil1:

Thanks. I'm getting ready to post volume 2 of the quotes soon. Perhaps yours will be there. It not then you will need to hold your breath until I post a quote that you never said. It's amazing how people want Mr CC to write their own words for them. I'm a busy man I tell them, but nobody beleives me. I said just yesterday - sometimes I actually leave my computer and venture outside my house.

I feel so honoured to be mentioned!

0304, noise pollution. That cracked me up for hours.

That was Justin's sentence.

"It's riddled with grammarical and speling errers."

Honored to be mentioned with spelling and grammatical errors in your ficticious quote? Then again you are a customer that's easy to please. :P

Wellll. Let's hope that these people are just as honored as you, Mr. Monkey. Here's volume two of what the critics are saying about the latest ASPCJ "trash" website:

?I?m just glad to know that I?m not the only person in the world who?s had career setbacks. I?ve worked with Jewel since my release from prison and I?m proud to announce a special edition of 0304 that includes a Martha Stewart Edition extended dance remix of Innocence Maintained for only $14.95 this week only at K-mart.?
-Martha Stewart.

?This entire ASPCJ website is a MIS-APPROPRIATION of my soul. In fact it?s MIS-APPROPRIATED and DIS-CONBOBULATED all over the dang place.?
-Folderol and Dave

?I think they should load a few thousand cases of Kelly Rowland CD?s on to clear up the noise pollution down here in the 48 states. While you are at it load up every 0304 hater and ship them all off to Australia to live!?
-Angel Eyes Tracy

?We?ve started a new program. We?re playing 0304 through the loudspeakers on all U.S. Navy ships when they are headed home from Iraq. That way they will sail faster and it will save the taxpayers billions, and they will appreciate getting home that much more. God bless America and Canada too!?
-U.S. Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld

?L'album 0304 est grand, mais le website est crap. C'est Crap pur. Ordures. D?tritus.?
-Emilie EDA

?If I ever get my hands on the Intrepid Prez, I?ll give him a few of my statistics.?
-The UK Foundation of Australian Bashers

?Pennsylvania is a state founded on religious tolerance, but the ASPCJ has gone too far and deserves to be persecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition, but now is a good time to start one??
-KJM 030584

?Allot of people want to know why I came out. The truth is the only CD?s I had with me when I was in hiding was an old Wayne Newton CD and Jewel?s 0304. I just couldn?t stay down in the foxhole any longer with that kind of abuse. Have you ever danced in a foxhole? It?s hell I tell you. I haven?t been this wound up since my dry cleaner messed up my order and I had his whole family shot.?
-Saddam Hussein

?What the heck are you babbling about? Who the heck is Jewel??
-Everybody Else outside this Forum.

If I've misquoted anybody's ficticious quotes please feel free to add to the fiction.
