Well now that is reason enough for me to bother to start an page
But I don't see anything on Jewel's MySpace page about this. Did they remove it or something? Anyway, I sent my question! Hope she gets it and answers it. It wasn't anything detailed. Just asked if she plans on coming back to Ireland or the UK to play a concert in the future. I really hope she does respond. At least then I'll have a better idea on the outcome.

I did that this morning and asked what is the meaning behind Last Dance Rodeo, since we were never really 100% clear on it when we discussed it here, it was kind of a toss up..
Kiera are you going to start up your page again? I hope you are and not just for Jewel, I would love to add you as a friend :)

I am on there as eaninbeag so feel free to add me. I won't be updating it though. It's one of the reasons I never bothered with one before coz I don't have time to update it.
This place is my blog. LOL

hahaha Gary I asked her the same question. Exactly the same question word for word. haha I also asked if she would ever come back to South Dakota. Umm we have Mt. Rushmore and the corn palace which really is the world's largest pigeon feeder.

It was a Bulletin so only appears on her friends' 'My Bulletin Space'.
I asked when she's coming back to Europe.

Ah I see. She hasn't added me as a friend yet coz I only did it yesterday.
I asked the same question in a way so hopefully if she gets a few more like it, she'll answer it.

Jewel finally answered the questions and they were posted on a blog yesterday. I'll post this for those who aren't on myspace and who aren't friends w/ Jewel on mysapce... here is how her blog was posted:

Jewel answers YOUR questions!
Last month, hundreds of you submitted questions to Jewel's myspace inbox for her. Jewel recently took some time to sit down and answer them.
In addition be sure to check back later this month when Jewel answers even more of them!
Dainty Blonde: All of your songs hold meaning. But which of your songs is the most personal to you, and why? Love, Virginia
JEWEL: I think "Goodbye Alice in Wonderland" is the most personal I've written - and Long Slow Slide. They both really tackle the thoughts and feelings of the last few years.
Black Rob: With all the fame surrounding you, how do you stay grounded and at peace in your heart?
JEWEL: I don't really feel famous. I notice I'm famous when people recognize me, and it always surprises me. I never meant to be famous and fame has always seemed a bit silly to me. Like when in high school I'd see girls and guys fight so hard to be popular, it just always seemed kind of embarrassing. So I guess it's just preferences. I really care about music and craft and writing. I got famous as a side effect of pursuing my passion, but I to try to stay focused on the craft because I think the craft can last forever whereas being popular is very short lived. That's why I like it in Stephenville, TX where I live because it's so far from the hype that you see in People or US and now when I go to events it's just fun and a kick to do because I know I get to go home. I'm in it for the long haul. I hope you guys are too!
Anita: If you could leave something for future generations what would it be and why?
JEWEL: I guess I'd leave my writing behind. That's all I have.
Malorie: Jewel, what do you like to do when you have a day "off"?
JEWEL: Sleep! Cook and read. Ty has a power chute, and we like to go flying too.
JonJB: I was wondering whether "Goodbye Alice in Wonderland; goodbye Yellow Brick Road" was a sort of goodbye to childhood, or perhaps to childhood innocence and naiveté (or childish ways). Love the song, by the way.
JEWEL: To me it means a willingness to find romance in reality and not just in escapism. Sometimes we tell ourselves tall-tales or we lie to oneself instead of seeing things for how they are. The song is about how to see yourself, your life, your world realistically without it making you cynical. It's the difference between being what I call an 'informed optimist' vs. just sticking your head in the sand and calling that optimism-if that makes sense. It's the difference between dreaming and pretending- a pretty fine line!
< SPAN>>Melissa IrisA>: What's in your CD Player right now?
JEWEL: Tom Russel's new CD-I really like it. He's a cowboy songwriter-his latest CD is his best.
Amie: I want to know what's the biggest thing you've learned, or the best piece of advice you could give someone from your experience in the past 10 years of your life?
JEWEL: I guess it would have to be to follow your instincts no matter what. It's your life to live, and no one else can live it for you. Life is full of success and failure and only you can know which is which. Since we all make mistakes you might as well make your own mistakes because it's easier to accept and learn from. Nothing is worse then doing what someone else says against your own best judgment-you kick yourself twice.
Thanks to everyone who submitted questions for Jewel! Be sure to keep checking back when more answers are posted!

If anyone could ask her if she'll ever come to South America I'd be very grateful!

Thanks for sharing this Gary!! I don't get over there everyday!
Anyway, she didn't really answer anything we didn't already know. I suppose her answer to JonJB's question is a lot more detailed than we've heard before and I think it's the best answer yet but in general, I thought she'd answer more challenging questions not so much surrounded by the new album. Clearly that was the focus of these questions. But I think that is good. The album needs more promotion and this is a great way to do it.

yeah and of coarse I was really disapointed that MY question wasn't answered haha... actually Kiera I think the guidelines were to ask her something about the new album, I might be wrong though..

Jake asked: What are your plans for the next few years now that your contract with Atlantic is over? Will you continue to put albums out or take another break?
JEWEL: Well, I have 3 CD's I want to make. A country album, an album of lullabies and a jazz standard type record, but I want to write the songs kind of Cole Porter style. I'd also like to do a "Nebraska" style CD with storytelling songs like "Rosey & Mick" and "A Boy Needs a Bike"
---> wow now I am really excited, a lot of us were hoping she would do a jazz album, that's awesome. I'm not familiar with the term "Nebraska" being used for music, but I understand what she means and that will be awesome too...
