It's 1313 square feet...not a bad size for two people. It has three bedrooms, one bath, a huge pantry and a bitchin' kitchen! I fell in love with it right away. ^_^

It's a great feeling isn't it? Knowing it is yours. I can't wait to move in now. I understand your excitement.

Mine is also 3 bedroomed. It is set on 0.19 acre of land and already has full planning permission for a 2 storey extention. That will add 2 more bedrooms ensuite and a bigger kitchen. We don't know if we'll do that though. The house is a grand size already. It's 1225 square feet but the land makes it a huge bonus to extend.

i would love to own my own house.i`v just been over to visit some of my relatives and my auntie has a gorgeous house and it always sets me thinking about kitchens and gardens and stuff...

i'd love to have something i can call my own. i've got an old dolls house in my mums loft, that'll have to do for now i suppose ;)

After my partner and i come back from Morroco on 1st 15th April we are going to start looking for a house. Currently we rent, my drive to work is 55miles there 55miles back each day. Although we are going to live in the village we live at the moment, so that jorney wont change, its still got to be better with a bigger house, plus buying it you actually feel like you own something rather than giving the landlord ?1000 a month.

Lissa, best wishes with your new home, send some pics when your all moved in.

I haven't moved yet. It is still in the process but it is ours (only partly the banks - michael).

sarah, don't worry, i used to say the same thing. We just saved any spare cash into a normal current account. We omitted holidays, take-aways, newer cars, new computer equipment but didn't really sacrafice much else. We still went for short breaks in the country or stayed with friends that didn't cost too much, bought some stuff we knew we would take with us to a house like furniture but we have been quite happy. Holidays and fancy equipment is all willingly sacraficed knowing that we were saving for something that will be ours. That is so fulfilling and motivating.

We aren't on big money but houses here are ridiculously expensive so we never thought it would happen...but it has. It will happen for you too!!!!

:lovejkf: well that's good kierra....i mean....what's the point to buying a house if u only had the money from the bank - we're talking lots of payments on interest eventually over time - great for u!!!!!! hopefully the move goes well - moving is a big thing as it's an emotional stress as well as physical one as u have to pack up things and go and change what u were familiar with - moving to my dorm actually eventually made me very sick - not just home sick - and yah - i miss living @ home b/c it was a home - i can't have all my stuff here - though i tried - and believe me.....THIS DORM IS FULL...lol

Hey, there's a good reason to buy a home. Part of your money goes into the equity. It starts off small, but gets bigger. Since the cost of homes goes up over time you get to pocket the value of that increase. Here where I live home prices have risen rapidly. I bought my home for $160,000 five years ago and it's about doubled in value. I recently refinanced and paid off *all* my debts. Now I owe $200,000, but my total monthly payments are considerably less than I was paying for my car payment, mortgage payment, and credit card debts, plus I still have plenty of equity.
