View Full Version : News Posted From The Jewel Unedited
Here's the only Jewel news I've gotten in the last month posted 2/14/2005:
Jewel was spotted at Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim, CA on Saturday, Feb. 12th for the Professional Bull Riders' Anaheim Open. She attended the competition with longtime boyfriend, Ty Murray, who is a founding member of the Professional Bull Riders and is known in the bullriding ring as "The King of the Cowboys." Jewel was seen signing autographs for several excited fans.
In fact that's the only news Jewel Unedited had given us at all since Music Today took over. Not that I'm complaining. I wouldn't want to be called negative. ;) :P

Eh, I was going to type up some crap that no one would care about, but basically I don't care anymore. Just let them do whatever. I'm sick of worrying about the site and what everyone thinks about it. There's more important things to worry about outside the internet.
Edit: Just so I'm clear, this wasn't aimed toward any particular people. I'm just talking about what I am doing, not telling anyone what they should do.

I posted this more to spread what little they tell us to the many fans who have not joined unedited. I wasn't trying to start another let's all complain about unedited thread.
It's about the Jewel news.

I know, I'm just saying that I'm not gonna worry about everything in general, including the people complaining and the site itself. If they update, great. If they don't, oh well. When people complain, whatever. I'm just gonna let everything slide.
By the way, I'm mainly posting this because I'm sure someone eventually will complain. They always do.
I also try to alternate between: messages of hope, complaining, and apathy. Just to mix it up a bit. Hey if we keep it up long enough we'll either get booted, ignored, or they'll improve. Only time will tell. ;)

Someone with an Intrepid name no doubt!
The following letter from Jewel was posted today 3/9 on Unedited:
THE BLUE GLASS
I sip from the new glasses I acquired in Grandbury, TX. They were made in the eighteen hundreds and are quite exquisite: the palest blue, with elegant etching. I love them. I bought them in a little store called Market On The Square. The whole town is adorable. Do you know the store Anthropology? Well, the whole town is like that, but the original thing. So cute. Hand made quilts and antiques and original cake plates. I was in heaven. I went there with Ty's sisters, Kim and Kerri.
We were in Texas for reasons that were less than celebratory. Ty?s mother was sick and so we all flew to be together and help out. And to relieve the stress, we girls decided to de-stress by a day of therapeutic shopping. Grandburry is much cuter than Stephenville. The nicest restaurant in Stephenville is Chili's. Grandburry is full of tearooms and Victorian homes turned into brunch rooms. I was in heaven. Anyway, I bought these glasses, and I sip champagne as I write.
I?m working on a new record. I produced it myself with amazing musicians. It?s the first time I have produced myself, or at all for that matter. It has been such a hard year for me. So many changes. I wrote some songs I love. Alice in Wonderland is probably my favorite. Another called Again and Again. Plus I finally got around to working up arrangements for older songs like Stephenville, TX and 1,000 Miles Away. I'm very excited about the music, but must admit I am in no particular hurry to release. Its odd, but I am so happy taking time off. It has been a pleasure to relax and enjoy everything I have worked for. I love it. But that said, I plan to release this record later this year. I?m just writing a few more songs, because you never know what gold lies just around the corner. I have also been trying to focus a little more on my writing career. I hope to write more and get artists to cover them and let them work their guts out to promote them, while I stay at the ranch a little more to focus on words.
For now I am totally content to sip from my lovely new glasses and writing to you all.
Until next time,
Jewel

That's the type of letter I love to read. She sounds really happy and there is a real personal touch to it, like she is talking to an old friend.
It makes me want to go out and feel good about something simple, sit down and put pen to paper, write a letter to a friend and just sit back and relax with a glass of wine.
How nice!

Thanks so much for the news, MrCC!
It seemed that Jewel would eventually produce an album all on her own. Nice that we finally got to hear from her.

So Let me get this right....
She is producing the Album and It will be out by the end of this YEar she is in no hurry to release it. She is still working on songs..
Ok so I see the earliest at this point is August....
That is my guess
Alhough I see it coming out on Like Sept 20th Why I don't know and these songs are confrimed or aren't they
1. Alice in Wonderland
2. Again and Again.
3. Stephenville, TX
4. 1,000 Miles Away
So at this point these songs seem to be it.......
So im guessing Alice or Again will be the first single well we will see.

Hey Mr. CC- I just wanted to say thanks for relaying that message. I know that like most people , I am waiting to "possibly" sign up for unedited when there may be a tour and ticket sales occur, but in the meantime thanks very much for relaying that message to fans in this forum. :)

There's an audio message there now. I tried to transcribe it as best I could, but here's what I hear:
Hello there, this is Jewel. I'm in L.A. and I'm writing songs. [she says something here, but I can't make it out]. I'm pretty excited about 2 of them, one of them is called Again, Again, Again and the other one is called Satisfied. I'm pretty excited about it. I've really been enjoying writing and making my next record. I have the record pretty much finished, I produced it myself, first time I ever produced myself, all by myself and it was really really fun and really exciting. And um, now I'm just looking for one or two more songs to round out the record, but there's a lot of old stuff all of you know like Stephenville, TX, and um, 1000 Miles Away, even, maybe? That's it, hope everyone is doing as well as I am. Bye.

Hey, that's why I posted it. I'm glad to pass it along. Thanks to Angel Eyes for transcribing that voice message. I see no need for everybody to sign up for unedited just to get messages from Jewel. I'm surprised they didn't just send the letter out via E-mail to everybody on the mailing list. Not that I'm complaining (again) at all. ;) I'm grateful they finally got us a message from Jewel.
