Pretty self-explanatory...post your top 10 albums!
My list, in no particular order...
01
fiona apple TIDAL ? This is just an amazing album. It is emotional, artistic and original. Fiona Apple is an amazing talent. "Never Is A Promise" remains one of my favorite tracks of all time.
02
shawn colvin A FEW SMALL REPAIRS ? I was fortunate enough to hear "Sunny Came Home" on the radio two years ago, hear the artist name, and find out more about her. Shawn Colvin is another under-rated talent, but this album needed to grow on me.
03
bj?rk HOMOGENIC ? Despite two or three "meh" tracks, this is a very good and original album. Plus the concept of a "narrative journey" is well-executed here.
04
shawn colvin WHOLE NEW YOU ? I was always under the impression that this was Shawn Colvin's "filler music" album. If it is, Shawn Colvin writes amazing filler music. I love each song on this album, and each song can have such a personal interpretation.
05
jann arden LOVE IS THE ONLY SOLDIER ? Another album where some songs seem kind of "filler", but it is still a meaningful and listenable album.
06
grand theft auto vice city o.s.t. volume 3: EMOTION 98.3 with FERNANDO MARTINEZ ? This has to be one of the best soundtracks ever. Fernando is hilarious. Good music and humor in-between...definately not bad.
07
jewel THIS WAY ? A stellar album; it is very catchy and listenable. I like every song on this album.
08
lisa loeb THE WAY IT REALLY IS ? This one took a while to grow on me, but I grew to like it a lot. Lisa Loeb is a talented guitarist and songwriter, and although this is more pop than her debut album "Tails", it still has meaning and showcases Lisa's genuineness.
09
sheryl crow THE GLOBE SESSIONS ? An experimental and excellent album. The last track (and its hidden track) are the best.
10
fiona apple EXTRAORDINARY MACHINE ? It's nothing like anything I've ever heard before. For most people it would take a while to grow on, but this is incredible music.
Honorable mentions...
sheryl crow SELF-TITLED
alanis morissette SO-CALLED CHAOS
tori amos SCARLET'S WALK
jewel SPIRIT
sarah mclachlan TOUCH
tori amos THE BEEKEEPER
sarah mclachlan SURFACING

I'm sure Jewel is in there somewhere, but for some reason I don't categorize her songs nor albums as my "all time favorite". I know, it's weird, but that's just how I am. Even if I did though, I doubt that they'd be my top 3, or even top 5. Hell, are numbers even relevent? :P

That is actually a really good album. It's this weird album you wouldn't expect someone like Madonna to put out. As a matter of fact to listen to it you have to forget who she is and not expect to hear pop crap songs.
Yeah it's like acoustic guitars mixed with dance sounding type beats but if you pay attention she is singing about real stuff. I give her kudos on that album.

Thanks Kiera. I am definitely a fan of both bands music but it doesn't hurt that both lead singers are, well, hot! In fact Chris Cornell in my Top 5.
He is bringing out a new solo album in the next month or so just to let you know. I think it's called carry on. QOTSA also have a new album on the horizon called Era Vulgaris.
