I recently bought the entire series on DVD, and I'm a little better than half way through the first season. It's soo great, I remember watching these episodes when I was 11 and having trouble sleeping afterward.

Holds hand up very very high!!!!! Huge x-files fan here. You should see my collection. Ok so I haven't really collected anything for years but that's only coz I was so destroyed it ended. Sorry....still very upset just thinking about it.

Seriously though, it was a truly excellent show.

Proud to be an X-files geek...plus David Duchovny is great eye candy! Now there's shoulders and eyes.

I used to be hooked on the X-Files "back in the day"... sorta lost interest in the final few series though...

That said I still like to watch the odd episode - FX on Sky Digital 270 have the rights to repeat the episodes in the UK :) (Yes, us Brits have a FOX channel too... it just doesn't show half the stuff that FOX in the US does because of rights issues!)

so i guess i couldn't roll my eyes at ya even if i didnt watch the x-files :D

did you ever see Freaky Links? it wasnt on very long, there is a new show coming out that looks like it will be similar, but maybe better, with more of a plot to it, I just can't remember the name of it now! hahaha, there was even a website to protest the cancellation of Freaky Links, so I guess there were some more upset than I was.

That's the way things went with Family Guy. When Fox cancelled it after 3 really strong seasons, there was a huge protest. To be honest I can't even remember a single episode of Freaky Links. :huh: How long was it on? It sounds like a Fox thing.

People used to think I was a geek for watching the X-files. I suppose I was to a degree but I didn't care. I loved it and still love to watch the re-runs

Yes, a truely great show. my favourite episode is when their stuck in the woods and these prehistoric alien bugs are going to attack them, except light keeps them away. they only have one light bulb in the log cabin and need to make it through the night, but the fuel for the generator is running out.
Have you watched the 4400? that reminds me alot of x-files, but with a bit of an x-men feel to it. I'm a geek too and proud, although I'd prefer a more flattering name for it than nerd, dweeb or geek. Hmmm?

OMG.. that's my favorite episode of the first season.. Unfotunately the DVD's I got for some reason won't play that episode. There's a few others that won't play, maybe it's just because my PS2 doesn't like em.

But yeah, that's a truly great episode.

I just have to admit, i DID like thee old series of the X-Files...with "David Duchovny & Gillian Anderson" in...not the later ones unfortunately. Outstanding story lines that had me hooked anxiously awaiting the next episode...especially once the infamous 'Cancer Man' made his mark amidst the wealthy cast :wink:

Don't want to post too many spoilery things here as I know that most people would like to see the movie fresh but I feel it is my duty to report that any rumours about the movie being about werewolves or the movie being called X-Files: Curse of the Werepeople or X-Files: Full Moon Rising are untrue and either a result of disinformation and staged photos on set and also an April Fools joke yesterday. Just an FYI for all fellow Philes out there.

You are so lucky Lou! I would love to go and just take one glimpse of David Duchovny's gorgeous eyes. They are like glass! yum.

I'd also love to see the movie too...of course. I can't wait to see it but not sure when that is going to be. Not easy getting a babysitter these days with so many of my family on hols.

Anyhoo I'm in London with a friend of mine and tonight we went to a fan event in HMV on Oxford St attended by series creator Chris Carter and writer and co-producer Frank Spotnitz. My friend managed to bag us a pair of tickets to tomorrow nights premiere. The excitement. I'll can't wait to let you all know how I get on.
