Any Fiona Fans?

Hey, have you guys heard that the new Fiona Apple record is finally being released? I listened to it and the arrangements are a lot different than the version that was leaked. they are streaming 2 of the songs at www.fiona-apple.com. What do you all think?

Yeah I like Fiona. Don't know much of her stuff though as she isn't really known here in Ireland.

I know there are plenty of Fiona fans here. Really love her 'O Sailor' song. Very sultry!

Yep, I am... I've had "Extraordinary Machine" on my iPod for a few months... i don't listen to it loads but little and often is good I find with Fiona's stuff. "Window" is my fave track on the new album, I think :) Naturally I'll be buying the "legit" version when it comes out instead of just having it for nowt on my iPod :)

Never heard of her?! Rectify this at once with a dirt cheap purchase of "Tidal" or "When the Pawn..." from eBay! :D

If you want sombre and chilled - go for Tidal. If you fancy something more angsty, go for "When The Pawn..." :clapjoy:

Well, I also wasn't much informed about Fiona until I heard her cover of "Across the Universe" from Beatles in "Pleasantville", and fell in love with it...but I must say I'm stuck on this song, and didn't hear the rest of her stuff... :bang:

Was listening to Fiona's "When The Pawn..." this morning on my iPod on my way to work, and had forgotten what a quality album it was. "Get Gone" is my favourite track, with "A Mistake" a close 2nd :)

My DualDisc of "Extraordinary Machine" arrived at the weekend - the PC at work doesn't recognise it though, I'm hoping my Sony SACD deck does - heck, it better do, what with DualDisc being a Sony invention and all!!

I have just started listening to Fiona Apple, I have Extraordinary Machine and it is effing awesome. I love it. I am addicted to it the past couple of days, well this past week really. I love every song but especially Extraordinary Machine, Get Him Back (the piano is so bad-ass in this song), O' Sailor, Tymps, Window, and Waltz.... they are all awesome and I am about to go back and get tidal and when the pawn. The awesome thing (and kind of sad now) is that she used to date my favorite director P.T. Anderson. I wonder why they broke up, I have no idea I just heard that they did...

there is a christmas song i have had of hers for years now, it's a live version of blue christmas i think and it's very good. I also have always liked her cover of Across the universe

I saw the tribute in elvis costello and fiona (i' m a fan) was the best of the guests, whom is " shabby doll " " tymps " et " i want you " were fantastic.

hey Fiona did this cover of "sally's song" from the Nightmare Before Christmas for the new special edition soundtrack, it's awesome and I think so much better than the original version from the movie.

I love all three of Fiona's cd's but I guess my favorite would have to be "Extraordinary Machine". I love every single song on that cd. Jewel and Fiona Apple are my favorite artists. Jewel will always be number 1 in my book though!

Jewel sells less that fiona now (for gaiw vs em) ; fifi sold 11 million disks worldwide

I never heard of Shadowboxer until I listened to Tidal, and I didn't even listen to Tidal until after I had already listened to EM and WTP...
it's weird how EM did better than GAIW, Fiona is never in the spotlight.. not that Jewel is always but more than Fiona I think..

Wow I just bought Fiona's iTunes Originals today and I am listening to it right now and I am blown away. First of all, there's 26 tracks and that's a lot for 9.99 and I think she did more iTunes Originals versions of songs than any other artist I've ever heard on there.. It's great listening to her explain the meanings of certain songs and how she felt while making the albums etc... the whole thing is just awesome. She's way more amazing than I ever gave her credit for.
Ok I have a question what's the deal with the original version of EM??? Available??
