So, you may listen to Jewel, but what other singers/bands do you listen to? Make your list as long as you want. :D

Here's mine:

Fiona Apple ? My favorite singer, by far. She writes amazing songs--music and lyric wise, and also has an amazing voice. So, it makes it hard to believe that her third album, Extraordinary Machine, has been shelved by her record label, Sony. <_<

Shawn Colvin ? Best known for her hit "Sunny Came Home", Shawn Colvin is, unfortunately, an under-rated talent. I only have three of her albums (it's pretty hard to get any of her earlier albums...), but they are amazing. She writes insightful lyrics and catchy tunes.

Bj?rk ? Hey, it's not a bad thing to be one of the most eccentric artists in the music industry. Bj?rk sings and writes music like no other. From ambient to electronica to uncategorizable genres, she's original, to say the least. :D

Lisa Loeb ? I only started getting into Lisa Loeb this month, and she's quite the singer-songwriter-guitarist. What I like about Lisa's songs in that most of them have conclusions, and although her music not being immeadiately catchy, it is definitely worth listening to.

Honorable mentions...
Liz Phair
Beth Hart
Sheryl Crow
Sarah McLachlan
Paula Cole
Jann Arden
(oh yeah, and...) Jewel

What about you?

i liked fiona apple until that last album of hers.... i mean, a couple of songs on the album were great like...PAPER BAG and FAST AS YOU CAN...but that was about it.

JEWEL is my utmost favorite...... never will that change...loved everything she's done so far and love each piece better than the last...(to those that hate 0304, i consider it one of the best)

I have 4 alanis morissette albums, though i'm not sure what to think of the last two released....

Madonna....well...her past two albums are alright, if you cut out most of the songs.... MUSIC, only the singles were good, AMERICAN LIFE - hollywood..... ray of light cd is a must buy though....won 4 grammy's for that one. other than that, her past music is excellent, even the erotic types...if you aren't familiar with her, i suggest the immaculate collection and GHV2

Sarah McLachlin, i only have her 2 LP cd's...the latest one is somewhat lackluster, though the songs FALLEN AND STUPID are excellent, and the album sorta grew on me.

Liz Phair's album, um, is ok.... i liked just a few of the songs, that was about it...i bought it b/c of the song extraordinary...the WHY CAN'T I got annoying on the radio ....but still is a good song..... IT's SWEET...or whatever that song after why can't i is called, i love the intro....

i also have...
gwen stefani - love, angel, music, baby
sorta strange, if you didn't like 0304 from jewel, u would definitely not like this album, it's extreme pop techno sounds...even i wanted to cringe, but it did grow on me, i especially like the song RICH GIRL

i have a big collection of cd's, i don't feel like looking them up though.....lol

I have quite eclectic tastes. I have always been into the whole peace and love hippy music of the 60's and 70's but also love all sorts of music besides.

Bach
Enigma
Deep Forest
Massive Attack
Jeff Buckley
Metallica
Alica in Chains
Sarah McLaughlin
Neil Young
Carole King
Bob Dylan
Thin Lizzy
Alanis Morrissette
Tracy Chapman
and loads more. I could go on for an age and still not fill the list.

Though I do have a soft spot for solo female artists...not sure why

My taste in music is very eclectic. I enjoy most anything except for bluegrass and most country. Here's my list though:

The Polyphonic Spree (my newest obsession :P)
Eminem (Mockingbird is his next single! :D)
The Wallflowers
Green Day
Rob Zombie
Ashlee Simpson (At the moment anyways. Despite how she sings live, I still love her album)
Avril Lavigne
Alanis Morissette
Jason Mraz
Vanessa Carlton
Smashing Pumpkins
Liz Phair
Dr. Dre
Andrew W.K. (Saw him [and Hoobastank -_-] live in 2003! It was fun being pushed around and such, but my brother was worried about me. My brother and sister got their picture taken with him also, and I was just a couple of feet away from him while I was waiting on them. It was cool! :D)

Other artists I have albums from are 3 Doors Down, Korn, White Stripes, Aerosmith, Dido, Tori Amos, Lisa Loeb, Mandy Moore (her last album, "Coverage"), Pink, Rebeka Reed (former Soul City Cafe artist), Tatu, Sarah McLachlan, No Doubt and others. That's all I can think of now.

mockingbird is the next single for eminem...um, that's been on the radio here in nebraska for awhile...but then again, you probably don't live here...lol.... yes it's a good song - funny when he says...and if that mockingbird don't sing, i'm gonna break its neck...he's hilarious

omg...i miss nelly furtado...what happened to her.... loved the singles ...she was annoyingly popular...but that's gotta count for something right?

Nelly Furtado's newest single, "Explode", has actually been circling around here a lot lately. Not a very good song; I find it slightly annoying and slightly pointless.

You know I really don't know much about her. I never really even checked her lyrics. I just think that her songs are catchy and some of the words that jump out at me like "We're counting the stars" add something
I don't own her cds so I couldn't really tell you much

My list would be quite small because mainly Jewel's music is all i listen too. Apart from miz Kilcher i adore Lene Marlin, and i have a soft spot for Shania Twain.

Some alternative music i like are groups like Keane and The Cranberries.
