ok - i was going to at least make it so i could afford my service by doing it monthly -

and i was smart - asked them - is this going to make me have to pay more b/c i'm changing it to monthly? - and they said that it would be the same -

turns out they change it and decide to charge me 70 dollars more a year for it -

so then - i try to change it back - but then they say my valued customer discount is gone - and therefore i'll have to pay way more in the future than what i would've if i wouldn't have touched it - which is bull

tried changing it back to my smaller package with just one domain - and they wanted to charge me now 199 instead of the 120 that they used to - and added another 30 dollars on for another domain i said to remove - yet they didn't

so it has come to my utmost annoyance with homestead that michaelsjewel.com is now done forever - unless they can apologize with the nasty customer service email they just received - and actually give me the credit i deserve back!

if u visit the site - it says it's disabled - so i dunno how long they'll keep my files - but u cannot access them currently - as sad as that is - it's been a fun 5.5 years of running the site - but i'm not motivated anymore and homestead just is really ticking me off - heck i may have lost important emails - but i don't care

anyways - take care - and i'm sure someone else can do better than i can - i'm just really PO'd with HOMESTEAD - goodness grief

That's terrible news Michael. Good Jewel fan sites are so rare today. I hope you can find another solution. Perhaps you could move to another host? I really would hate to see your site go away. You've done a great job with the graphics and the layout.

I hope you'll reconsider. If I can do anything to help let me know.

No Way dude :( that sucks cheese real bad!!! and considering you've been a customer with them for 5.5 years you say...and there trying to con more money out of you!? in regards to your situation, i myself would be steaming over that one.It seems to me that some company's are no longer interested in supporting here current customers, but instead intent on ripping them off!

Hope all things come to light on your website ASAP m8...coz it was the best Jewel fan site on the World Wide Web...and i mean that ;)

It is sad to see it go. I recommend f5 hosting. I use them and they are very reasonable. If you could move it to a different hosting site, perhaps you can keep it going.

It really is one of, if not the best Jewel Fansite around and ones of such quality and calibre as yours are rare.

oh gosh, all that work and everything, that is just so sad! gah, i hate companys that mess over their customers, esp loyal ones like you were! not that is probably much consolation, but it was a really great site!

I am sure there are many people who would be willing to help you. Shutting down a great website is sad considering that there are many hosts that cost very little money. I hope you can get it worked out.

the thing is homestead - made it easy to build a website by drag and dropping site elements - u barely had to do any html editing - so hosing someplace else would require me to know lots of html - and that i just don't know - lol if homestead gets back to me and gives me my discount back for good - and not just this one time deal - then i'll probably bring the site back up - otherwise it's not really worth my time or money -

Maybe you could do a collaboration type of thing. Try to find someone good with html and other codes, and the two of you could agree to how to do the design and such. It's not uncommon to do nowadays and would take some pressure off of you. I'm not sure how well it'll work, but it's worth a try. :)

Micheal

Not sure if you got my email, but if you've got the origional HTML files and you still have the domainname setup up i may be able to help you.

I have a good friend who owns a server, i could ask him about using some space. Im not sure how much you need, 200mb ? 2gb ? but if you dont ask you dont get. The thing is youre site is great and it would be a shame for us Jewel fans not to try and help if we can.

Email me if you want some more info.
