I absolutely love miss jewel's music, and can't wait until another album comes out. I was wondering what other artists you all listened to? I can't think of a single other artist out there that is similar enough for me to say they are. but just wondering.

I listen to Sarah McLachlan, Tori Amos, Sheryl Crow, just started liking Shawn Colvin, and Alanis Morissette.

I guess they're all kinda like Jewelie girl in some way or another.

Here we have a wonderful singer called Juliet Turner. Sometimes her music reminds me so much of 'classic' Jewel and both have wonderful natural voices.

Try this a singer:

Chantal Kreviazuk

I'm sure you will like her if you like Jewel. Her first album was only so-so but 2nd and third albums are worth getting. She has 2 new songs from the soundtrack Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, 'These Days' and 'I want you to know'. Both songs have really outstanding vocals as much or moreso than any of her other songs I would say. She has given lots of songs to movie and tv
soundtracks also, and is from Canada, about the same age as Jewel.

Well i used to listen to Lene Marlin as ive written about her many many times already on here. Jewel's overtaken everyone in my music world though, lets face it no one come close to Jewel.

Just lookin at Andrea's post, im completly the opposite, my CD collection consist much more of women singers than men. Sheryl Crow, Dido, Lene, KT Tunstall, Shania, Michelle Branch, mmmm and Jenny Frost from Atomic Kitten :-) yummy.

anyway, must get movin ..... :lalala: , stuff to do, stuff to do..
Dave.

:o Nobody mentioned Anna Nutlick. That is shocking especially since she has been compared to Jewel alot latley even though she sucks but thats besides the point

i like norah jones' voice, but to me alot of her songs have a similar tone, so i dont listen to it much unless i am really in the mood. hmm, my friends beth and pattie have awesome voices, and i could listen to them sing anything! oh ya, i just remembered, i like a couple more like Bonnie Raitt, Sass Jordan, Allanah Myles??, Janis i do like, but i really dont own any of their stuff.

Hm, I was huge Alanis Morissette fan before, since Jagged Little Pill - her greatest achievement, but stopped as I stepped into my "mature" ;) phase. Sheryl Crow is also rockin' on The Globe Sessions, that I still love very much. I had an also Lene Marlin period when Playing My Game was released, and she's still precious in my memory. As you can see, I'm more album fan, than the artist one ;) .

Andrea, I see your confused, so I will catch you on to Shawn and I's little joke.

Theres a singer named Anna Nalick, who has this song called "Breathe" which sux basketballs, and it is wayyyy to overplayed, and some people call her Anna Nutlick (Nut Lick, get it ;) )
Shes also compared to Jewel a lot because her music is like really soft-rock-pop.

Hmm... I like sarah mclachlan, and Alanis Morissette (I just got the acoustic version of Jagged little pill) And I think Jason Mraz kinda has a jewel-esk thing going on with his music. I really like his acoustic stuff, but forget about the hip-hop. I also enjoy listening to my rice krispies in the morning. :D
