Hmmmmm..... does anyone remember a long long time ago when I brought up that on MJ's website there was a wallpaper that Jewel was wearing a diamond ring on her left hand ring finger and you all thought i was crazy??? well, if you look under the topic "Newish pics" and click the very lst picture, right in clear view is a LARGE DIAMOND ENGAGEMENT RING!!!!! what did i say????? um - just because it's a big diamond ring doesn't mean it's an engagement ring - jewel's rich enough to buy her own rings if she sees fit - maybe it's moore of a promise ring? i mean ty's gotta be loaded 2 right?
lol
more jewels for the jewel

THen again, big bling rings are in fashion at the moment. They are usually just dress rings made with glass or crystal so it could just be a fashion thing. I thought the same myself when I saw those pics. But she does own a substantially large diamond ring that she got from Atlantic records a good few years back so it could just be that ring. She often wears it at concerts on her wedding finger. So without confirmation from Jewel herself, I am ruling it out just at the moment.

cmon, she has 10 fingers to choos from to wear that ring. why did she choose the finger thats also the finger you wear wedding/engagement rings??

Isn't that the ring finger in general

Yep! I wore my mothers engagement ring on my 'ring' finger for a long time before I got engaged. She gave it to my before I was even seeing Peter but I wore it then. It doesn't mean she isn't engaged, but I don't any reason just yet to say that she is. Certainly not conclusively. Besides, I am sure she wouldn't want to keep that kind of news out of the public domain after all the years she has been with Ty.
Nope, I am still not convinced yet.
Yea. Until I read it in either The Star, The National Enquirer, or The New Jewel Forum Soap Opera Thread, I'm just not going to believe it. ;)

I don't Think so. In a recent interview with Ty Murray. He said there was no plans to marry and that he and Jewel where both happy with the way things are. " She has her Career. Her tour schedule depends on if she has an album released. But she spends a ton of time here at the Ranch " He goes on to say
" We didn't start dating immediately, about six or eight months later, she called and we talked on the phone. We hit it off. we have a lot of the same interests " He is a fan of her music. " She likes all kinds of music, she doesn't like being pegged to one kind. she says that would be like limiting a painter to one color." And yes they did meet seven odd years ago at the National Denver Stock Show. While Murray wouldn't say Jewel was a Rodeo fan when they met,he said she was "aware" of the sport. Her Dad competed in rodeo while living in Alaska..

Just another update. It seems Jewel is getting in on the Action at the PBR. recently at the Anaheim open Jewel was interviewed.
" I thought it ( owning a Bull ) would be really Fun" said " I think bullriding is the ultimate extreme sport and deserve attention. "
Pro Bullriders at the Pond, By Lou Ponsi 12th Feb 2005.
Jewel and Ty purchased bulls at the ABBI world Finals Bull Sale in Las Vegas last year. Jewel also make an apearance on the PBRs new DVD - Adrenaline Cowboys. She was also seen recently on the OLN network in a Documentary about Ty Murray - " Fearless"
And yes I am a Ty Murray Fan. I hope you guys don't mind.

Hey Penderlee
I've been a Jewel fan since I first heard the 'Spirit' album...
then went to see Jewel during her Oz Spirit tour. Enchanting. :)
My parents brought us up as vegetarians and taught us that...
"Every living creature has the right to: Freedom, Sanctuary and Dignity."
So yes, I'm not a Ty Murray Fan. I hope you don't mind.
Easy...

:givbeer: No I don't mind. it seems Jewel doesn't mind either when she sits down to a medium, rare T-Bone. Sometimes we want to see people for what we want to see them as, and not for what they really are.

i want to see her get married, i mean ty murray is paid for being man-ly, youd think he'd have enough balls (sry penderlee) to ask her to get married
doesnt anyone here want her to get married as much as i do????

it could be they don't want to fall in the star trend of failure of marriage - since they usually spend lots of time apart due to their high-fab careers -

Ditto Michael.
Whatwouldjeweldo- I like your comment
Mind you Ty is 36 years old, you think he would want to settle down and get Hitched. Not only that Ty is 4th Generation cowboy so I would think he would have his heart set on seeing a 5th Generation. ( we cowpok like to get married young ) We will have to wait and see what will happen after she releases this album. Her last album with Atlantic records may see her retire. Being married to a cowboy(cattleman)is full time work I know because I'm married too one, It's a life style very different from Hollywood. Perhaps Jewel is not ready for that kind of commitment. Either way I wish them both the best.
"Now that I think about it they really don't have a lot in common." :dunno:

My family have friends who work a huge cattle station here in Oz... so I fully understand
the commitment needed. Especially in a drought.
But as Jewel is a millionaire as Ty isn't stuck for a buck either, would you
think that they could marry and simply have a 'management' role in the ranch ???
That would allow time for other pursuits... creative or otherwise.

Intrepid Prez -
Ranching-Farming.
It's not that simple. It's a life style. For Ty Murray aka 'King of the cowboys'was born into it. It something he works at every day like we do. I asked my husband if we won the lotto would he give up the land and move to Hollywood. His answer to that was " Hell No. "
Pat Russell, the California rancher Jewel and I were camping with on September 11, once told me that being a great cowboy takes a lifetime of learning. As I've grown over the years, I've come to relize just how right he was. The true king of the cowboys is part farmer, part veterinarian, part mechanic; a master horseman and a better-than-average weatherman; a skilled cowhand who can do anything with rope; a businessman; and a conservationist who understands what it means to be a good steward of the land. He also does everything in his power to carry on the rich heritage of the cowboy way. a way of life that has been around for centuries and will continue long after we're gone. Becoming the king of the cowboys is like earning a lifetime Ph.D.
The cool thing is, I'm still a long way from being that guy. - Ty Murray.
So I can't see him moving to Hollywood to live that fab life style, Can you!
Changing the Subject, did anyone watched LIVE AID. Was Jewel a guest performer. I thought with the charity work that she does she would have been invited to perform.

Cowboys (or stockman as we call them in Oz) sure are a different breed
to us city folks. I gotta agree with pretty much most of what you said...
so...
after Jewel's hectic life in the spotlight, do ya reckon she could spend
the rest of her life on the ranch ???
And yeah... I'm pretty sure, (not certain) that Jewel wasn't in that 'Live 8' gig...
but... my two other favourite singers were:
Kelly Rowland (Destiny's Child) were in the American concert. :)
and...
Shakira sang in the French concert. B)
Easy...
