I don't care how important this award giving body was, but the fact that it recognized Jewel's music, it really made sense to me.

Jewel swept 5 out of 9 Awards given that year.

THE 1997 MIKIE AWARDS (http://www.mbgtop40.com/mikieawardsindex.html)

FEMALE ARTIST OF THE YEAR
Jewel

ALBUM OF THE YEAR
"Pieces Of You" by Jewel

SONG OF THE YEAR

What do you think "Pieces of You" has that made it one of the best selling albums of all time?
What is the real magic of this album?

Someone was definitely loving POY back then! That's good to know but in the end, we don't need to see rewards to tell us that her music is great but it's always nice to get some recognition anyway.

Thanks Roy

Pieces of You was a raw and true record, unafraid to sound corny or silly, that just really connected to an audience that was desperate for some guidance and consolation. Well, that was what happened with me anyway :)
