Fellow Kilcherians
How about this...
I'll offer Jewel's management a FREE membership to the
'Australian Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Jewel'
in return for a free membership to the 'Official JewelJK.com' site.
After all... we are both offering the same thing... absolutely nothing.
Lissa made it perfectly clear how she felt about paying for 'freedom of speech'
in the official forum. She even gave up her SUPER-POWERS as a protest !!!
I know Craig keeps Mr BB informed about Kilcherian dissatisfaction.
I really hope this forum takes off and becomes the
MOST POPULAR JEWEL FORUM...
but I gotta say this, coz it really does bother me:
Some Kilcherians have a foot in both camps while other Kilcherians are
striving behind the scenes for a fairer 'official' site.
A 'Forum for Paying Members Only' is a thinly veiled form of censorship.
I really think Kilcherians should take a 'Stand' one way or the other...
and this forum is the place to do it.

as far as i'm concerned...i'm disgusted with the official jewel site of nothing...i mean, it has literally nothing.....my site has 100x the content it has, which is sad! this forum is great in that it gives another option and way of not tempting to join that club just so that way i can post on a forum....or even see video clips of jewel videos...or jewel audio files...b/c yah - most other official sites don't make u pay for this s***.... i think musictoday is doing an even worse job than the other one did...it doesn't take that frickn' long to create a site for crying out loud! i make one myself and it's not my job ...it's in my free time.....
LET'S MAKE A STAND WITH JEWEL @ THE NEW JEWEL FORUM
JeweLink is ok, if you're into hope that it'll come back alive...lol
official pay for everything site, um.... i'm not even gonna go there.
MICHAEL's Jewel and ASPCJ unite to defend the FREEdom of speech - so take a stand and make this place #1

Strange quote... you were one of the most vocal, yet freely handed out your money.

I only joined for recon comrades. :ph43r: I'm scoping it out and reporting it back to you. Believe me you're not missing much. I've seem more action at a funeral. The "official" site could almost officially be declared dead. The vital signs are slipping and I think we might have to move the patient into intensive care. :o
And as far as peeing myself, I think that was covered in another thread. :bananarock: ;)

Come on guys, I won't have the official forum slagged off. The thing is, you have to remember they are looking after tonnes of other sites as well. Jewel's is just amongst them and still in its infancy.
Being patient is something that has been requested continuously but it is necessary. Jewel knows she needs the fans support and giving them a cool site is no doubt a big priority. But it just takes time.
When we look back at the first Jewel Official site Mr. BB ran, that wasn't great to start off with. It took time and yes, it paid off being patient.
So stop comparing the official site to the Fansrule site...different people so we have to give them the benefit of the doubt.

I have to agree with Kiera on this issue. We spoke BEFORE this site was set up and we both had reservations about it, but also thought what the hell', there should be freedom of speech wherever it may be, on whatever site/forum.
On the promotion of this site, well it can only really be through word of mouth, we dont have the money or the time or the gravitas that the official site has. However, if jeweljk.com would like to incorporate this forum a deal deal could be struck.
Its also not really fair to stick the knife into the offical site because basically thats only happened since they started charging for membership. Before that, everyone was 'quite' happy, as Prez said 'Lissa did a great job' and i for one would love to ask Lissa to help us run this site.
Anyway, the main thing is, we all love Jewel and this site is about her, we can make a stand', sure, but against what or who ?
Dave.

I'm sure there's a joke there, but I'm not getting it. I don't update anything.
And bluediamond dave: I'm now decided to take a stand against dissent. I'm now 100% against it. :P

Eh, well, I sorta was getting the message that you had joined UNEDITED, and was wondering if "they" ever updated UNEDITED... you know, news and stuff.

Oh, I get it now. The answer is no. They relaunced last month and have only one video, one audio song, and about 20 photos. Not really worth the money in that respect, but they do have a sale of items that is pretty good this month. I bought some autographed DVD's for $10.50 each and a jewel artwork poster for about $7. I have hope it'll be worth it and will get better. I like to be a squeeky wheel to try to motivate inprovement. I make a bunch of noise, but I don't always mean what I say. :P
