Is it just me, or do the lyrics of Stronger Woman bother you?
She describes her relationship with her man as if she is the stereotypical, traditional stay at home woman, and that the man is some stereotypical male pig. I guess I am a little perturbed by that, because I can't relate (and I doubt that Jewel can).
Is it just me? I don't go to my wife only when I need my laundry, need food or just feel frisky.

She said that that line was inspired from hearing a radio DJ making some comment along the same lines (that all a man wants is a clean house and a wife that loves him)

Jewel often writes in the first person about things she hasn't personally experienced and this is another example.
I certainly don't think that these are her best lyrics, not by a long shot but I still like the song. She likes to write for everyone. I'm sure there are people out there who do relate to the lyrics even if Jewel doesn't.

I don't always think her lyrics are meant to be taken so literally. I see it as more of her just saying that she's not going to compromise her happiness for someone else... I think a lot of us can relate to that.

Hi:
The song donīt talk about someone specially out there and she have let it clear more than once. I saw a pair of interviews where she said that that song was inspired from the relationship of one friend of her and she try to give spirits to that friend. Otherwise the man who see himself reflected on the song itīs cause somehow he feels himself like that. Cause when you arenīt like that you shouldnīt feel avoid at all.
In my opinion, Sonne
