Just in: Jewel is returning to Nashville Star. She was the host of the show last season and will join John Rich as judge/mentor when the show premieres June 9 on NBC with host Billy Ray Cyrus.

It's fantastic that she'll still be involved with the show now that it's moving to NBC from USA! We should be able to tell how much of an impact this might have on her album by looking at what American Idol does for Paula Abdul's album, if it ever comes out (though the degree will probably be less--AI is much bigger than I'm guessing NS will be).

I think Jewel having a "Paola Episode" will probably entail Jewel reciting a poem or yodel out of nowhere. As long as both eyes remain open and no slurring is involved we should be ok and it will just be regular fatigue.

Yeah - that will be FANTASTIC if they're the judges!!! More exposure for Jewel - but this time as part of the judges panel!! In a way, I think that should be considered a 'promotion' from being a host before.

Did anyone happen to see John Rich's show on CMT called 'Gone Country'??? He was really hard on some of those people....but rightly so. He loves country music that much and will fight for it! The man knows exactly what he's doing.....and that's why he's one of the hottest singer/songwriters/producers in Nashville!
