BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- Two celebrities came together at a local radio station Thursday morning to help raise money for sick children.
Pop singer turned country singer, Jewel, was at the KUZZ studios to perform live.
She helped kick off their St. Jude Children's Research Hospital fundraiser with a whopping $23,000 in donations
The next celebrity was ABC23's Jackie Parks. She has been to the St. Jude Hospital in Memphis visiting children stricken with a variety of deadly illnesses.
Progress is moving along in building the new St. Jude dream home that Lenox Homes broke ground last month.
The four-bedroom home is off Fairfax Road in the northeast area of Bakersfield.
People can try to win the $425,000 home by donating $100.
All the proceeds go to help children with potentially fatal diseases as they get their treatment for free at St. Jude.
Tickets go on sale April 1, while the KUZZ fundraiser runs through Friday.
