I haven't seen an updated list. The website only reports Adds once a week.....so hopefully next week we'll have even BETTER news!!! ;-)

According to mediabase 24/7 adds are slowing down a bit. Some stations that started playing the song early have already started slowing their plays of it. It is still at the top of the "taking off" chart and sitting in the middle of the "jump" chart though. Hopefully it will get another surge of adds on Feb. 11th because it is currently only playing at 76 of about 225 country stations.

I've said this before and I'll say it again. Country radio is tricky. It sometimes takes months for a song to reach Top 10 (LeAnn Rimes took 4 months to get Top 5 last year) and sometimes it's faster. Sometimes the songs seems to be dead and then it resurrects and it sometimes it seems to be doing just fine and then it dies and that's it.

So any unexpected sudden change should NOT worry people too much. This song is going top 10, that's almost a given. It's being very well receive and Valory is doing an amazing job.

We will see if it makes the top 10, I doubt it. I just don't see it going that high but hopefully I am totally wrong.

Sorry I've been out of touch on this thread lately.....the problem is that all of a sudden I stopped getting my Country Aircheck info. It looks like they're going to start CHARGING $$$ soon to get this information. I'm hoping I can get in touch with someone inside the radio business so that I can still get this to share with everyone here....

This is great news, I got a little concerned because when this wasn't updated I decided to see what I could find and on All Access it shows that on the taking off chart she went from 9th to 13th but she is up two from last week on the reg. chart, she is 24 which is great but when you click on her name to see the radio stations playing her with the amount of spins some of the stations had decline in spins. there wasn't a lot of stations with -#'s but there was a few and I was a little worried but not after seeing this post, I realize she is still moving on up. Hopefully she will be in the top 20 the next update.

I think the video will probably help it. I think the country music fans usually are watching CMT (or so I've seen from my experiences) and see someone or something they like, then go out and get the cd or make requests...

Based on the rate at which two of the songs in the Mediabase top ten are falling right now, I expect Jewel to go up two more spots within the next week or so.

Radio and Records has her as #15 this week..YEA.. On all access (same as Media Base) in their published report she was # 16 but on their rolling report that they update on a daily basis she is back down to #17. All last week the rolling report showed her at #16 so I knew she was moving up so it was no surprise that she was 16 on this weeks report, but the surprise came today when I checked in to see the rolling report thinking she would be up to 15 or 14 only to find out they put her back to 17th. Just a temp. setback I hope.

I don't see Jewel on the add list anymore, so if she isn't getting any adds and songs below her are how is she going to keep going up, doesn't she need more adds?

I don't see Jewel on the add list anymore, so if she isn't getting any adds and songs below her are how is she going to keep going up, doesn't she need more adds?
The number of adds reflects the number of stations that newly begin to play the song. The spin increase number, on the other hand, reflects the gain in number of times the song is played on a station that has already been playing it.

The country radio panel comprises about 230 stations, and Jewel's already been added to 224 of them, so at this point adds are less important, in part because there's just less of them to be had. To keep moving up the Mediabase chart, she needs to gain spins.

It would also help if her biggest spin gains were in big markets (New York, LA, Chicago, Houston, etc.) because those stations are assigned higher audience per spin (based on the fact that each song will be heard by so many more people in a heavily populated urban center), and it is this audience impression number which, in part, governs how high the song gets on the Billboard charts--and we all know the Billboard charts are much more relevant than any others in influencing pop culture's impression of a song's performance.
