I chose Painters only because it's too descriptive and loooonnngggggg....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Although it has some great emotional impact it's slow pace makes me lose interest fast.

I love all the others, especially 'don't' & 'amen' other than the usual.
Painters is ok, i like the way she tells the story and i think it is a nice tune as it goes along, but i do have to be in the mood to listen to it.

I have to admit, Don't is one of my most favourite songs. It was the first song I ever taught myself to play on the guitar which was a huge achievement for me then so it is close to my heart for that reason too.

Well Batsocks and Kiera I am right there with you too, I can't listen to Adrian, I think it is God awful...but I always skip 'Pieces Of You'. I like 'Don't' alot but don't like 'Amen' until the ending when she hits the notes. I think 'Don't' is simple and clear, I like the line "all those blue skies where your words were my freedom".
But Adrian, ugh!! ha ha :huh:

Honestly I can't remember exactly which song I chose, but I think it might have been POY. I usually skip this song too. But it is a very hard decision, it's an excellent album!

My favs include Near You Always & Angel Standing By. I do like the major singles like FG, YWMFM, & WWSYS but they were overplayed on radio quite a bit. I guess I got tired of them after awhile, but they are great songs!! I usually gravitate to Jewel's non-hits more than I do the successful singles for some reason.

I usually like the non-singles too for all albums, but I think Standing Still is my weakness there, I just love that song, not really the meaning so much as the sound of the song itself. The POY single I tend to get tired of really easy is Foolish Games, I don't know why, it's a good song but I just don't really like hearing it. I do like the album version better than the radio version or batman version or whatever though..

I cant even belive that soo many people dont like Adrian and Daddy and Painters. those are my most fav from the cd. I absolutly love loong story telling songs. I think Adrian is so sad how she cries a bit its just so raw and emotional. i love it! the same with painters such an amazing love song. THAT i think is a real love song her best besides break me. and daddy. just cant get enough of it. its awesome i can relate to it so much.

I love all the songs and it was very hard to pick one but I ended up choosing YWMFM because of the fact that I was disappointed to hear a different version when I purchased the album thinking it was going to be the radio recording. That's false advertising!

Haha I have that EXACT same problem with mine. You'd think the Pod would improve the sound but it actually enhances the skipping and scratching. I could fix that problem by burning from my friend's copy but I think I'd rather just buy another copy of my own because I love giving Jewel my $upport.

Me too. I mean you can actually hear her cry. I dont believe that she didnt know a boy named adrian.....and maybe she was "Mary Aperson" in the song?

The Adrian song is so ironic for our family. My kids grew up to Pieces of You being played all the time and loved all the songs and knew words off by heart. I have a son Adrian and the kids all loved that song, even tho it is a sad song. Here is the irony - Our Adrian suffered a brain injury at age 17 and for 6 months was just like Adrian in the song! 4 yrs down the track he is a little better but will always be looked after, Was that song prophetic or wat!!!
