yah...she posted a silly pic....that doesn't make her a criminal...u seem to post plenty...and we don't see u behind bars! especially for all the rude remarks u give jewel - i'm surprised u haven't been exhiled from this planet! but yes it is hilarious! the rest of my reply to this actual recognition is in the L'Oreal post....but u know what...u didn't reply to the fact of how most of your scoops aren't really a scoop at all....especially when it comes to that Jewel behind the 0304 story...that was a bunch of crap!

i'll back u up angel eyes with .0304% (like jewel supposedly does for the swinger project on his hilarious site) ....and i'll back the idea of putting justin behind bars with .0304 x 100000000 %

Hey Michael... I'll tell ya something...

I had so much fun with '0304 Inside Story' although its not my favoutite page...
the 'Ride With the Devil' page will always be my favourite.
(But sadly, no one ever mentions that page.)

http://geocities.com/jewel_australia/InsideStory.htm
http://geocities.com/jewel_australia/index_RWTD.html

The really weird thing that happened was... eventually '0304 Inside Story'
proved to be just about true !!!

Yeah, I predicted that Jewel would get back to her roots and to her real fans
and that she herself would deny 0304.

Jewel NEVER toured promoting 0304... she all but ignored it and started to
imediately embark on the 'Solo and Acoustic' tour... even in Australian.

I copped so much crap (and still do) for '0304 Inside Story' but no one has
yet to admit that the final outcome was DEAD RIGHT.

When Jewel finally released her DVD her PR team made sure the music contained
was YEARS before the release of 0304.

And yeah, don't blame me for that vulgar 'Swinging Page'.
Mike (Mr CC) wrote that offensive crap:

Jewel Expose
http://geocities.com/jewel_australia/Expose.html

I had to tweak it a little so it complied with the ASPCJ's strict moral guidlines.

Easy...

Yea, I wrote that one and I was not too ashamed to sign my real fake name to that story. I love those swinging photos. ;)

And when he says he had to tweak it he's talking about discussion about phrasing of certain words. I think it involved the word "balls" as I recall (He wanted it in). ASPCJ strict moral guidelines means it has to have at least three sexual references per page. He's very strict.

did u forget she canceled the tour after her bassist in the band died? i don't think i'd want to do a tour with a whole new bassist and start over again just right then and there...that'd be disrespectful..... and also, she doesn't deny 0304, in fact, she defends it saying that half of those songs could've been on any of her records....which is utmostly true! returning to roots may be near the only truth described......but question.....i just heard rumors that she's collaborating with kelly clarkston and santana.....and a whole bunch of other people..... i don't think that's returning to her roots if u know what i mean...i believe she's exploring yet again new avenues! interestingly enough, jewel said herself that she doesn't go for what's in "especially when 0304, a pop album, came out when pop wasn't mainstream anymore" - the collaborating thing i heard on the radio itself from national headlines that collaboration is the popular thing...so this time our JEWELIE girl is exploring the popular thing to ring it in big...we're talking really big with all the collaboration i'm hearing... this would explain why she's takin' so long :)

also, i don't mind the .0304% page.....in fact, it was funny how it was posted as children do not enter as though it was porn...it's hilarious..... and a weird way to look @ it - i've seen the ride with the devil page - i like it, graphics are good and well matched - but there's not much controversy on it that i can recall...or not enough that i would recall there being any......

don't forget that we all knew jewel's last album with atlantic was supposed to be mostly acoustic anyways...she said it herself back in the spirit or this way era...i forgot which one though...but she did say that! so, was it really a scoop..????!?!?!?!?! no, not really, just a reminder in the most permiscuous way possible!

If 0304 was a success at the time, Jewel would have been on the world stage
with a DOZEN bassmen promoting the album. Other bands have no trouble
replacing members.

She doesn't deny 0304, in fact, she defends it saying that half
of those songs could've been on any of her records

Jewel says lots of things... it what she DOES that speaks volumes.

Make no mistake about it. 0304 was a massive effort to launch Jewel into the
pop world: Divas Concert with Beyonce, Outragous Blender pics, Xtina's
manager, Shakira's producer... it was a HUGE promotion... and it FAILED.

No-one bought it... it was a farce... just plain stupid.

So... Jewel IMMEDIATELY dropped the whole 0304 fiasco and did the
'Solo and Acoustic' tour.

Let the EVENTS speak for themselves no matter what ANYONE says.

Easy... Justin ;)

Oh I don't know if I would call it a failure. I would call it a limited success. Very limited. Like chocolate bacon, Fansrule management, or clear plastic diapers. Sure they work, but who's gonna pay for them? :P

And I know I can loose my ASPCJ membership over this, but I actually got to like 0304. Like I like driving in the rain after 3 months of 100 degree weather. :o

I have one explanation for all of Justin's so called predictions....Freak Coincidence! :P

Justin, you claim far too much credit than you are worth. I know Jewel is appalled by your antix and I for one think you should be sued for slander of this forum and of Jewel and whatever else I can think of after I write this post. Hell I'll blame you for everything if I have to. It's more fun that way. Everyone needs a scapegoat.

With my know-how and Jewel's money, I say we gotta case to take you DOWN.

Although, maybe I'll take up my little vendetta with you tomorrow. I have not had my coffee yet so I may not even remember writing this in about 5 minutes.

hmmm...so u think it's ok to just forget about your bassman and just hire another one to replace just because it would be popular? gee - show's how sympathetic you'd be - at least jewel has sympathy for those that work with her and she doesn't just move on!

i wouldn't consider it a failure either, it grabbed a whole bunch of new people to her music, those that download rather than buy the album...does anyone get this at all? if they didn't like jewel before, they likely think the rest of the album won't be like the single, so they download instead. i guess people outside of the USA forget about this lovely trend! :dir:

I've got problems with downloading music that can be bought in stores. If you can't buy it then I have no problems with trading it. The fans you are describing are those who are too young to have jobs. The chances are that 11 year olds wouldn't have bought the music they download anyway.

As far as why Jewel toured solo acoustic rather than with a band after T-bone died I tend to agree that it's more likely that she did this because of the reaction of her long time fans and that the death just gave her another reason not to tour with a band. If I knew her I might ask, but it's anybody's guess. The death of her bassist was unfortunate and I would respect her if she did it in his honor, but I'm just not sure if that was the main reason. I'm sure there were more than one reason - to save money, to save face, to honor t-Bone, who knows. Like I said 0304 was a limited success. I'm sure it lost her as many old fans as she gained new ones so it's a wash.

Personally I don't care what she produces. I still like what she has done and have great hope she will make more music I like in the future. If she returns to her roots she will win back any long time fans who left. No worries*. :D

* My favorite Australian expression.

to take you DOWN.... Kiera
And... if your case is as good as 0304... then I'll get away Scot free. :)

Hey Michael

Even if the bass-man hadn't died, Jewel still would not have toured
with a band promoting 0304. It was nothing to do with respect for
the bass-man, it was about REALITY.

If the album just had bad reviews, well... that happens to ALL musicians.
But take a peep on the net... type in Google: Jewel 0304

0304 IS RIDDICLED

Look... I reckon the SPIRIT album is one of the best albums I've heard...
(and the Sydney 'SPIRIT' concert rates among the best shows I've seen)
but 0304 was a was a farce... a failed attempt for Jewel to become a pop star.

If Jewel (last tour) had arrived in Australia with a pop band, wearing her
'hot-pink-belly-button-flashing-Britney-outfits' at the Sydney Opera House...
Australians would not have boo-ed her off the stage...

...they would have LAUGHED her off the stage.

I know Mike but I hate to tell ya dear. It is true. I know your innocent little mind is finding it hard to process that there are people out there who get kicks from being fought with but it really is true. You said yourself, he collects hate mail. I think we should be worried for his mental health...if he has any.

(you didn't hear it from me but, I hear he has munchkins locked in the basement writing all the stuff for the ASPCJ and he just claims ownership. Shocking but you know, there's no smoke without fire -

remember, that's on the QT - shush!)

LMAO :lol: I can't get enough of that website. Thanks for more informative Jewel news during this time of darkness*, Justin.

On everything else so far posted in this thread...Michael, Justin is just able to make fun of his favorite singers (Jewel is still one of your favorite singers, right Justin?) and I do agree with him that the whole 0304 "fiasco" was based around trying to "launch Jewel into the pop world" (direct quote). But, I think Jewel would've decided not to tour?at least not immeadiately?once her bassist died whether 0304 was a massive success or not. And yes, Kiera, it is a FREAK-COINCIDENCE. Or, Justin has the ability to see into the future.

*Oh, and this time of darkness is UNEDITED ruling the entire Jewel community with actual news and the like...I wonder where that money is going.

michaelsjewel

i still don't care what you say...0304 is like my first or second favorite jewel album..... this way would've been great without the country influence...and don't say it's folk...because spirit is more folk but there's no country sound there! or even on pieces of you....

folderol and
02-16-2005, 11:45 PM
OK, OK, Michael, don't get worked up over it. I was just voicing my opinion, and you were just voicing yours. I haven't listened to any of Jewel's albums in such a long time (it's just been the Jupiter remix and some unreleased acoustic songs lately) that I hardly remember what any of them sound like, but This Way remains my favorite Jewel album. And besides, Jewel is a fusion of pop/rock/folk/country/etc. that sometimes you can't tell what style she's singing.
