her testimony really shows how brave she was at such an young age! Bravo Jewel! I like when she says "institutions didn't save me, kindness did"...that is what really matters. And it just reminded me of people who make fun of her music like "she sings about love, kindness, but the world isn't that way". Ok that's partially true, but jewel did experience what she sings about. So I found her music very honest and real. And it gives me hope! Even now when she sings about real love that's also something that she can write about because Ty and her are really a great couple and you can see this is a real love... Anyway, I'm really deeply touched by this woman who is true to herself and who found the way to live her dreams.

Whenever I see that, I keep thinking (while she is reading) 'Look up Jewel...for God's sake Look up'
Doesn't make for good public speaking if you don't look up at the people you're addressing while making your statement.

Though I do love this testimony. It is very honest and clear and obvious that Jewel really wants to make a difference to the homeless youth of America.

I agreee with you Kiera. I learned in a public speaking class always to face your aduience and attempt to make eye contact with as many as possible. AND DON'T READ FROM THE PAPER! Know your words and just use a set of index cards.
