I was super happy today to receive my well deserved prize from our very own Intrepid Prez himself. Even the envleope was funny! So all of you who may have thought it wasn't real, I can vouch for his honesty (on this one anyway)

BTW Justin, it's actually a region free disk so I was able to play the 2 tracks on it that I am bothered about! Tom Jones really shouldn't sing those kinds of songs. It's just wrong! And Charlotte Church is so young!! She smokes like a chimney and lives with her boyfriend now in her own house.

Anyway, Appreciate it whilst sitting here listening to Stephenville on the good ol' kilcherlator!

yep...i got mine 2 days ago and it works on mine 2 with no problem...i was like...gee my computer is smart - and i cannot believe he wrote all that about the ASPCJ and kelly rowland on the outside of the envelope - nice touch and thanks justin

as for the mother daughter duet.....um....jewel giggling while singing was bad - otherwise it was better than her singing hands...i don't care what u say...hands is not a christmas song! - she should've sang something more profound like that of what's on her x-mas album.... like face of love - gloria - walkin' in a winter wonderland ....

it's interesting though how they consider jewel the top star...u notice how the front that list the people - it's in the same font as jewel's spirit and joy album....also - she's in front of everyone else - she's also the image on the side of the dvd case - go jewel!

Justin sent me one a while back. I'm so glad he sent you guys one too. Thank you Justin. Considering that I got every answer wrong, I'd say I'm the luckiest one here!

Jewel fans owe Justin and the ASPCJ a huge debt.

There's gonna be a new comp next week :)

This time the questions are gonna be a little tougher... like:

a. Who, in her half-baked shell, understood the nature of love ???

b. In spite of Jewel's extraordinary Australian success, three of
her major projects were not realeased in Oz. What were they ???

c. What has Jewel seen that may put to rest here longing ???

d. What always grow silent before the night descends ???

e. Which song did Jewel write for Australian singer Holly Valance...
and why did she end up singing it herself ???

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v717/jewelfan33/Hollybubblegum.jpg

Holly Valance

Mike, Michael and Kiera can still enter... but...
should they win, they're gonna have to donate their prize
to another forum member.

Yep... this is gonna be a REAL test to see if you are merely a Jewel Fan, or a true:

'I'D-TAKE-A-BULLET-FOR-JEWEL' KILCHERIAN

Yep... it's gonna be called:

THE KILCHERIAN DAY OF RECKONING :omg:

i can answer all of those except the australian success ones without any help of anything.... - where do i enter? lol...and can we enter already?

So if I understand you right Justin, if I don't enter then I don't have to give up my nice, rare, extremely hard to find, Awesome, Newly aquired, Jewel at the Vatican DVD? Hey I don't even like these people. And besides my Mom taught me that giving away a gift is impolite. ;)

Its OK Mike...

You can keep the one you've already won. :)
But... if you win the new comp, then you're gonna
have to give the prize to another member.

(You ain't gonna win the new comp anyway, I've already decided that)

Easy... Justin ;)

Hey Craig...you the same Craig from the old Official Jewel Forum?

Anyway, I'd just like to thatnk Justin for his major generosity here. I really mean that. No sarcasm or anything. Yes you can be a royal pain in MY ass but ya know I love ya really! And I know you actually do have a heart in that chest cavity of yours. It may only beat once in a blue moon but it's something.

I am very determined to win the next contest! (CRAIG)
Craig, as you and I are long-time cyber-friends and... as you were the
1,000th member of the Original JewelJK Forum, you will be receiving the new
questions 24 hours before the comp date. B)

Princess Tracy gets them early too... coz she promised me ETERNAL LOVE.

After all... if this competition was fair and unbiased then the ASPCJ's
hard-earned, dubious reputation would be at risk.

The new comp will also be open to the ASPCJ's regular visitors,
not just open to New Forum members like the previous comp.

But... New Jewel Forum members will have an advantage. :)
Michael, Mike and Kiera can enter again, and... should they win another
'Jewel at the Vatican' DVD they must give it to another forum member.
So, in effect, they'll be playing for other forum members.

So... hopefully the new comp will be on-line at the ASPCJ next Friday.
(that's when I pick up more new DVDs) :luck:

btw...

Justin, it's actually a region free disk. KIERA
Yeah Kiera... I thought so. The packaging has no region requirements.
Plus... I tested it on my 'All-Region' DVD player.
Set at ALL the different regions... worked perfectly. :)
But... Mike said his DVD players wouldn't play it, he had to use software on
his laptop. So... that cast some doubt on the issue.
Hey Mike... try it again on your DVD players and tell us what happens.

Easy...

Hi Kiera- Yep it is Craig form the old forum...changed the name from cholm (first intial and last name) to craig...easier to remember!! :D
But yes Justin emailed me about this forum shortly after its' inception. I had been reading the postings and finally joined in after Mr.CC posted the first message from Jewel in Unedited. I was the 1000th member ,as Justin pointed out, in the JK forums so did not drag my feet as much this time around!
It is good to read everyone's messages. Hope all is going well with your moving situation too!! :)
Take Care and congrats on winning the ASPCJ contest. Hopefully my photo will be proudly displayed amongst the winners of the first contest, lol

OK. I just tested this disk again.

1) Works fine on my downstairs DVD player.
2) Works fine on my laptop.
3) Says to check disk type or for scratch on my upstairs TV/DVD combo. This unit is about 4 years old and has once survived a fall from it's mounting bracket. This is a plunge of about 6 feet. It still works, but it's not in the best shape.
4) Won't work in my primary computer, but I think this is a software issue. I've got problems with something Windows Media player needs to run. I can't watch any DVD on this computer, but I can still record data DVD's.
5) Won't play in the DVD player in the kids room - says "No Play." This player is about 4 years old.

Summary: I think it plays fine on most DVD players that is no older than a couple of years. I also think this disk is probably region free since all of these players are probably region 1 players. Your best bet is to play it on the newest player you have got. Progressive scan DVD players go on sale for under $40 us often where I live. If you have trouble playing it and don't want to buy a new player that plays every type of disk then go visit an old friend - preferably one who has a thing for the latest and greatest of everything.

I'm just grateful to have seen it at all. These disks are rare at everywhere except at Justin's home. He's got a monopoly on them. If I didn't know better I might say he had a DVD factory in his garage. ;)
