Just out of curiosity, is anyone going to see Revenge of the Sith next month? I'm going to see it Wednesday at midnight (technically Thursday) along with my brother, sister, sister-in-law and 2 other people and we're gonna buy our tickets tomorrow. I can't wait to see it because there's a brand new sound system called *ShockWave!CinemaSound* just for the movie. Apparently it's going to be different than the sound system they put in just for Episode 2. The sound for that movie was awesome in the theatre, especially when Jango and Bobba were chasing Obi Wan and launched some sort of bomb. When it hit an astroid, it got really quiet and then there was a loud BOOM! I can just imagine what this new sound system would be like. There's more info about it HERE (http://www.cinemall.com/?BISKIT=274692417&CONTEXT=cat&cat=10) if you're interested. There's even a warning! :o And yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing the movie itself also. Watching Padme and all the Jedis die, seeing Anakin and Obi Wan fight, seeing Anakin turn into Darth Vader... it's going to be depressing, but worth it, I think.

Anyway, I'm just curious of who's gonna see it. :)

Wow. Is it that soon? I thought it was still a few weeks away. I will see it probably this weekend if not on opening day. I want to see how this thing ends.

Oh, it is a few weeks away, that's why I said "next month". And by saying "Wednesday", I meant the day that it opens. Sorry for the confusion. :P

It'll probably be a while longer before it comes here. No doubt I'll see it but purely because it's a tradition at this stage rather than enjoyment. I didn't really like the last one. I felt it had too many holes in the story.

I've seen every one, but I don't go overboard. I watch them once and I'm good. I don't need to own the DVD and watch it over and over. To me it's like finishing the last chapter of a book...so I can put it down and move on to something else. ;)

Heh, good thing you're not like my sister then. She's obsessed with Star Wars and has all sorts of action figures, puzzles, legos, 9 lightsabers (even a purple and orange one), pez dispencers, a couple of lightsaber pens, posters and whatever else she can find and doesn't have. She has all the movies out so far including the ORIGINAL versions, the 1997 versions, the newer versions of the original that George Lucas hacked up and put on DVD, Episode 1, Episode 2 and if they come out with a box set of all six movies in one, then she'll probably get that also. And then in the next 5 or so years, if Lucas finds that he's not satisfied with the newer versions and decides to change things again, then she'll probably get that also. You know what she's going to do when we go to see Episode 3, though? Her and my brother are going to dress up as a particular alien creature called twi'leks (http://www.starwars.com/databank/species/twilek)... fake head tails and all. I wonder if anyone else to going to. :dunno: I guess we'll see, but yeah, she's obsessed. :P

how long has it been since episode 2. Is that the one where yoda kicked some major @$$? Seems like forever ago.

Yeah, Episode 2 was when Yoda fought Count Dooku. That movie came out in 2002.

Seems like it came out a lot longer than 3 years ago. I don't even remember much of it.

I don't really enjoy the movies either. The ones from the 70s make me laugh though.

I am probably the only person in all of north America to have never seen any of the episodes
I'm worrying about myself ;)

Yeah, I agree Michael. I was going to post this last night, but a storm came in and I had to turn the computer off. Then when I tried to come back on, the internet was down. So anyway, here's what I was gonna post:

I was gonna write a full review with no spoilers, but it's messing with my head and I can't think about all the details right now... and there are A LOT. Kiera mentioned how she didn't like Episode 2 that well because it had too many plot holes, but I'll tell you right now that the plot holes get filled. Every single one. I keep going back in my mind about how Episodes 4 to 6 turned out and I can't think of anything that he missed. I go back in my head about 1 and 2, and I still can't think of anything. Someone, anyone, name something that you think would most likely still be a plot hole and I'll tell you if it is or not. I won't explain anything, though, in case you guys want to see it. :)

With that said though, you guys should definitely see it. It's easilly the best movie out of 1 to 3, and ranked up there with 4 to 6, in my opinion. The scene where Anakin transforms into Darth Vader was intense, the lightsaber fighting scenes between Yoda & Darth Sidius (previously known as Chancellor Palpatine) and Obi Wan & Darth Vader (he wasn't Anakin anymore) were awesome, and the way all the Jedi die... oh man, it was so obvious, but also unexpected... and sad. It was really sad seeing Mace Windu (Samuel L. Jackson's character) die. He was my favorite because of the cool purple lightsaber. :P Also, you know in 4 to 6 the storm troopers and the Republic were all bad, but in 1 and 2 they were all good? You actually find out why and how they turn bad.

Alright, this is still making me think of everything, so I'll just shut up now. But, the movie really was that good. Well, aside from the corny "NOOOOOOOO!" that Darth Vader yelled out at the end. He yells out when he gets told some particular bad news and after he gets put in that black suit. Oh! That reminds me, you finally find out what happens to him that makes his breathing so bad, why he has to be put in that black suit, and why he's "more machine now, than man". When you see him struggling it makes you feel so sorry for him, as well as realizing why he turn bad considering the news he gets told. After all he went through for this one thing, it just didn't happen. :(

Ok, I'm gonna have to go now, but I'll most likely say more later on. I'm in a rush to get to work right now. :(

Edited because the typos were killing me. :P

I'm really looking forward to see it now. Everyone seems to be saying how brilliant it is and how the story gets completed. Though I think it is tragic that he does go to the dark side. Poor Amidala. That is a love story I really would have liked to have really blossomed forever. Ah well.

I finally refreshed myself by watching the first two. And as long as his bad acting doesn't ruin the movie it should be good. So anyhoo, I'm gonna go see it tonight with some friends that I haven't hung out with in a while. I'll let you all know what I thought.

Don't feel too bad for the feelings of ficticious characters.

Me too. We just rewatched Episode 1 and 2 yesterday. We'll probably see Episode 3 this week sometime. I want to see how it all ends.

After seeing the movie you'll most likely say "poor Anakin". :( But Padme's death was also really sad.

I think Hayden's acting is better in this one than in Episode 2, but the dialog in the first half was too boring, I think. Natalie Portman's acting was worse overall. I've seen her in a couple of her other movies and you can tell she wasn't up to par in this one, which is a shame. I don't think it ruined the movie, though.

It's not the ending, it's the beginning. :D And now I'll have to watch 4 to 6 and 1 & 2 soon. :P

Actually it's the middle, but it doesn't sound right to say "I want to get to the middle of the story."

I like Natalie Portman. I agree she's better in other movies though.

We may go tonight. B)

True, but it's the main movie right before A New Hope (Episode 4). This is the movie where we pretty much see how everything began, so technically, it's the beginning. :P

OMG, It was really good; the special effects were amazing. I felt really bad for poor Yoda at the end. :(

There's only 2 things I noticed that seemed 'off' about the movie. First of all, what happened to their braids? And second, the 'love' scenes between Aniken and Padme could have been written better by a 12 year old Smut writer.

I'm not quite sure, but in the Cartoon Network cartoons that Lucas did, there was one that showed Anakin getting his braid cut off with a lightsaber. I think it's to show that he's no longer a Padawan (I can't spell :P) and is a complete Jedi. Or something. *shrugs* I just recorded the cartoons for my sister, so I didn't really pay attention.

Oh lord, I know. The scene that was really off was the "You're beautiful because I love you" scene. George Lucas can't write a love scene to save his life.

Hey what do you expect? He is the world's biggest the sci-fi dork.

Here's some George Lucas Tivia:

Letters/numbers THX-1138 (name of his first "real" movie) appears in many films: The licence plate number on Milner's deuce coupe in American Graffiti (1973) was THX 138. A battle droid who captures Jar Jar Binks and the Gungans has the number 1138 written on his back. In Star Wars (1977), Luke Skywalker said (with reference to Chewbacca) "Prisoner transfer from cell block 1138." In Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980), General Rieekan says, "Send Rogues ten and eleven (11) to station three-eight (38)."

His films usually feature a battle scene which takes place around a large shaft or pit.

Yeah, but you'd figure someone would point out and say "Hey, this sucks. Can we try something else?" That is, if he'd even listen. :P

By the way, my sister has the THX-1138 DVD and it's really... strange. Definitely not one of his best movies.

I heard yesterday that Hayden Christensen said this could be his last movie! He wants to train as an architect now. Fair do's. He feels he can't top Star Wars and I can see where he's coming from. He has gone as far as he wanted with acting now he wants to try something else. Shame though, he's very good.

I suppose that is down to the roll they gave her this time. There isn't a whole lot a pregnant woman can do in a Star Wars movie. So her roll would have had to be more subdued. She even said herself that she would have liked Padme to have had a more active roll in the movie.

Still haven't seen it. Can't wait.

Here's an article from the 19th that was in the Bristol TN/VA (the city is on the border of the two states) paper:

It's a long address. Click here (http://www.tricities.com/servlet/Satellite?pagename=TRI/MGArticle/TRI_BasicArticle&c=MGArticle&cid=1031782803260).

I'm surprised that the Cinemall is as big as it is, popularity wise. Just last night when we saw Revenge of the Sith again, my mom was talking to the owner of the theatre and she said he told her that there have already been people from 5 different countries coming to see the movie here. He also said that the Cinemall was featured on the Today Show as the #1 theatre in the country to see RotS. I had no idea it was that good. :o I guess because I'm not used to any other theatre, so I can't really compare.

Hey, do you guys want to see pictures of my sister and her now ex-boyfriend from that night? The two of them were Twi'leks... my sister was a purple Jedi and her ex was a black Sith. They painted their faces, arms and even hands in acrylic paint. My sis looked good, but her ex looked... scary. It also didn't help that he was in a bad mood and didn't smile at all that night. We still enjoyed ourselves, though. :)

You know about the movie- when it was coming out everyone was saying that they're only going because they've seen all of the previous episodes and it's mostly out of a habit- and no one expected it to be good especially since it's been getting worse since the original came out. Now that it came out it has great reviews and everyone who went is happy. And like it
Not for being one of the Star War movies but for itself. It's just kind of interesting ^_^ (sorry go on with the topic)

I saw the movie openening day. I was not happy with the first two episodes, they lacked an edge. The only thing I enjoyed was Darth Maul from episode 1 and pretty muhc nothing from episode 2. Revenge is much better and what the firts two should have been in tearms of suspense and depth. However, the movie was over due and because of that was only a thrill ride in the end.

I agree with all that "Nooooooo" was the cheesiest line in a movie full of cheesy dialogue. So sad. Ah well, it's over, bye bye.
