Ty really isn't that famous. Contrary to poular belief rodeo is NOT that big in the US. The only reason most people know who he is is because of Jewel.

I think that kind of depends on who you talk to... having worked with horses for quite a while, I know a lot of cowboys. To them, Ty Murray is a KING. I mentioned Jewel once and they were like... "oh yeah, isn't she Ty Murray's girlfriend." (Instead of the other way around) He is huge in the rodeo/cowboy world. Ask the cowboys and they only know Jewel because of Ty. Of course I live out west where the Rodeo is a big thing. Every January Denver has the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo--its been going on for over 100 years and it draws people from ALL over the country. oh AND the Rodeo Hall of Fame is about an hour south of where I live.

Yeah, I know....you're talking about chewing tobacco, right? I used to dip copenhagen balck and Kodiak Ice, I used to go throug habout a can in three or four days. I love taking a was of crap and fiberglass and packing it in my jawl.

But I've found smoking is better on my gums, because I don't have many gums left. Dipping will eat away your gums, don't worry, I can provid digital scans for anti tobacco leagues out there all over the world.

In the country realm, Ty Murry is a BIG GUY like awiste said. I grew up with some cowboys and knew guys who did rodeos. Ty was a god to them, the ultimate rodeo cowboy! I think this will help at least a little for Jewel to begin to find a fit in country music. Many of those cowboys I talked about listen to only country music. They'll recognize her as "Ty's girlfriend". ;-)
