View Full Version : Dilbert And Your Favorite Comic Strips
The following is from the latest Dilbert Newsletter: Source (http://www.dilbert.com/comics/dilbert/dnrc/html/newsletter60.html)

Here now, some quotes from Induhviduals, submitted by DNRC field operatives. Apparently the most confusing concepts for Induhviduals are anything involving body parts, beverages, food, or animals.
"There's more than one way to cut the cheese."
"I know these streets like the back of my head."
"When push comes to shove, that's when the dollar meets the road."
"Tomorrow at this time?it will be Wednesday."
"I would like a pie-in-the-eye estimate."
"The smell of indifference was deafening."
"Oh, that will be a cake in the woods."
"She'll chew you up and down, and spit you out like a bad habit."
"He's living off the fat of my sweat!"
"I heard that out of the corner of my eye."
"Even a blind beaver falls off a log once in awhile."
"I threw down the carrot and he picked it up and ran with it."
"It's like a monkey on the back of the elephant in the room."
"I don't mean to throw a wrench, I mean a monkey, into the tools."
"I got under your goat."
"You heat it until it doubles to about three times its size."
"When it comes to nut-cutting time, the cream will rise to the top."
"Is it hot in me or what?"
"Don't you hate it when you lock your keys out of your car?"
"It's like watching paint grow."
"The winds of change aren't what they used to be."
"The system is humming like a clam."
"You need to take the bull by the balls and run with him."
"Two cats out of the bag are worth more in the nest."
"Anything worth doing is a lot more difficult than it's worth."
"Not to toot my own horse, but......"
"We do things by the pants of our a**!"

And maybe this should be posted in the "I'm Bored" thread, but I wouldn't want to hijack anybody's boredom: Dilbert Games (http://www.dilbert.com/comics/dilbert/games/index.html)

Just don't be funny, okay?
I paid attention that you made a point out of taking a few threads off topic again, that was a great idea
Just when I started appreciating you as a person
But since I don't want to make the choices that you do:
Funny Quotes on Marriage:
"In my house I'm the boss, my wife is just the decision maker."
-Woody Allen
"My wife and I were happy for twenty years. Then we met."
-Rodney Dangerfield
"A married man should forget his mistakes; no use two people
remembering the same thing."
-Duane Dewel
"Eighty percent of married men cheat in America. The rest cheat
in Europe."
-Jackie Mason
"I don't think I'll get married again. I'll just find a woman I don't like
and give her a house."
-Lewis Grizzard
"I'm the only man in the world with a marriage licence made out to
whom it may concern."
-Mickey Rooney
"I haven't spoken to my wife in years. I didn't want to interrupt her."
-Rodney Dangerfield
"The difference between divorce and legal separation is that legal separation gives a husband time to hide his money."
-Johnny Carson

I have no idea what you are talking about. If you've got problems with my posts why not just go ahead and hit that little button called "Report" and turn me in. Other than that do me a favor and just ignore me.
...but thanks for posting something that's kind of related to comics. Not comic strips, but it's close enough.
Here's a page of Dilbert ECards: Dilbert Ecards (http://www.unitedmedia.com/comics/dilbert/e_greetings/html/ecards.html)
I especially like this one: The Wallybeast (http://www.unitedmedia.com/webmail/SendAStrip?AppName=DilbertECards&ComicName=dilbert&Attachments=/comics/dilbert/e_greetings/cards/wally_beast.swf)

here we go again.... as far as i'm concerned...i could care less what one thinks of me as a person, because i know myself better than anyone on here ever will (thanks to internet distances) - especially the fact of one thinks of me as a person - remember, comments like that just make me really consider making assumptions about the person talking as if they are being...well...u know.... but that's just an assumption...not the truth - but if it is, oh well - live your life and be u - who really cares if it goes off topic.... it's not like it's the end of the world - but then again - this post just made it off topic of comic strips.....sooooo.......
not really my fav. comic, just thought i should contribute somehow....

lol, I've never noticed that, but he does, doesn't he. Except, Dilbert doesn't have a mouth. Makes you wonder how he's going to eat that sandwhich, huh?
As for other comics, these are a couple of my favorites:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v107/Angel_Eyes1984/other/peanuts20050112205201.gif
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v107/Angel_Eyes1984/other/significant.jpg
:)
Thanks for all those great comments and comics. Keep them coming.
Yes, Dilbert has no mouth and like Drew Carey he's an average looking guy with glasses who plays an average looking office worker wearing glasses. Neither of them get any respect of their co-workers. And Drew Carey in real life is a wealthy man and so is the guy who draws Dilbert. I bet you could draft a long list of similarites. It makes you wonder if Drew Carey copied Dilbert as his role model for his sitcom. Hmmmm.
They say nothing draws more passionate letters than when a newspaper makes changes to it's comics page. Everybody has their favorites and they really really like their favorites.

Don't post attacks that I have to come back to, I will be happy not to get back to posts like that! Other than that I'm planning to answer on them :P
Mike I paid attention to the second line of your topic
I don't know any good comics, so I hope you don't mind if I'll post something like the first time. I hope it doesn't take away from your comics thread
here we go again.... as far as i'm concerned...i could care less what one thinks of me as a person, because i know myself better than anyone on here ever will (thanks to internet distances) - especially the fact of one thinks of me as a person - remember, comments like that just make me really consider making assumptions about the person talking as if they are being...well...u know.... but that's just an assumption...not the truth - but if it is, oh well - live your life and be u - who really cares if it goes off topic.... it's not like it's the end of the world - but then again - this post just made it off topic of comic strips.....sooooo.......
We didn't have to "go again" this was a direct comment toward MrCC it doesn't have anything to do with you. But sure, if you want me to answer again. And no, I don't know. Next time please specify. I wasn't making assumptions. I paid attention to his choices and commented on them. I also told him that since this is happening the opinion that I stated in the other thread no longer applies. People care if it goes off topic. There was a thread taken to determine that. I understand that it's a concern with you since you were doing that as well, but lets please keep comments like that in the appropriate thread
And since I don't know any good comics:
Thoughts on Exercise
*I have to exercise early in the morning before my brain figures out what I'm doing
*My grandmother started walking five miles a day when she was 60. Now she's 97 years old and we don't know where the hell she is
*I have flabby thighs, but fortunately my stomach covers them
*I joined a health club last year, spent about 400 bucks. Haven't lost a pound. Apparently you have to show up
*I like long walks, especially when they are taken by people who annoy me
They are not great, some of them are mean. But I think that's all I've got

The Dogbert Tech Support is one of the Dilbert strip's classic themes. I've been treated pretty bad by plenty of tech support people so I appreciate these strips.
Thanks Kiera. :D

lol Kiera I love yours, and thanks for adjusting mine. I don't know how to attach files here, I hope you could do that for me again. And Tracy I love your Calvin and Hobbes. And btw I never get treated rudely by tech support stuff, but then again I'm never rude on the phone

lol, thanks tracy! here is a question, there is a "newer" comic called non sequiter-or something like that- is that done by the same person who did calvin and hobbes because the animation style seems very similar?

I don't know. I kinda doubt it since I heard the guy who did Calvin and Hobbes retired. I've just started getting into Calvin and Hobbes, so I don't know as much as I could.
But, here's another strip:

I like that snowman one. It reminds me of a book called "Bunny Suicides" that I saw in a bookstore. It shows bunnies committing suicides in various strange ways. (I did NOT buy it.) I like the Calvin comic strip, but I'm tired of seeing all these stickers on the backs of people's cars:http://www.importequipment.com/images/calvin%20pissing%20on%20symbols.jpg
I've seen Calvin peeing and worse on way too many things. If anyone should retire from anything I wish Calvin would retire to the bathroom.
