We had a Lunar Eclipse last night and it was a fully visible eclipse from this part of the world. The moon went blood red for most of it and then turned a deep blue coming out of the eclipse. We won't get another one for 22 years so we made sure we got plenty of shots.
We got some shots of it but they didn't turn out too well. Here are a couple of our shots.
During the Eclipse:

I also got these from some Irish members of Astronomy Ireland. I have credited each of their photos with their names

I'm not sure how much of it would have been visible from certain parts of the US but I figure you should have seen something if not the whole thing. The last one we had was about 15 years ago which I remember very well.
I've followed astronomy since I was a kid but lost touch in the past couple of years. It was great to get back out in the cold on starry night while an eclipse was on. We were blessed with the weather but the West of Ireland saw nothing. It was so rare to get a clear night though there was some haze that interfered with some shots, it wasn't bad at all.
No, see I don't remember it because I'd hahve coipous amounts of alcohol in my intake that night. Sorry.

I loooooooooove the moon!! Thanks for those awesome pix and I'm pretty sure that we wouldn't have seen it in most parts of the US. I think the East Coast could have seen it really early on. Otherwise it was over before the moon rose here...

My friend Lorri didn't get to see it either and she's only on the West of Ireland. It was overcast and raining which was a shame because out of all my friends, I knew she'd love it more than any of them.
I am so glad I didn't miss it. There was very little mentioned about it on the news here until it was too late for people to catch it. A lot of people didn't get to see it. I'm just glad I have photos of it.
