Okay, I've been throwing this idea around for some time, and nobody's really giving me any encouragement either way. I've been fighting a loosing battle with male-pattern-baldness for a couple years, I know I'm just so young. The point is, Rogain doesn't work, and I don't have a lot of money for transplant surgery just yet. So should I shave my head?!?!?!?!?

Yeah dude, shave it...have a tattoo as Andrea said if you want....sod what anyone else thinks tho, its YOU thats having it done, and dont even panic on what you'll feel like the next few days after having it done (if you do that is).
I had long hair once...and thought i would look a complete and utter fop with short hair....and i did when i had it cut short haha, but i'm well used to being a total fop now! its good to be a fop!
NO, any gentleman will tell you to cut your hair short, but not too short, and let yourself grow bald natrually. Don't shave your head, just get a professional looking haircut and let yourself go. Nothing wrong or bad in it.\

I don't know you at all but I think you should totally go for it. Whats the worst that could happen? It will look awful and you just grow it back!
I've been toying with shaving my head too but now that Britney Spears did it... I don't know. Its different for girls and I don't want people to think I'm trying to be like her. Darn her! She beat me to it!!!

I don't know, I kinda understand what Britney Spears was doing. I mean, not that I support her behavior, but I definitely understand what caused her do to that. I think you should shave your head as well. We'll make it the new hot thing to do. ;-)

No I think she did it to get away from all of it. I feel kind of bad for her, but then again, I don't exactly know how it feels to have people stalking you around trying to snap a picture. If it were truly a measure for attention she would lease the back of her head for an advertisement.
Hey that just gave me an idea.. how much do you think I could get paid if I get an ad tattooed on the back of my head?!

Yeah. I don't really wanna "pull a britney."
At the same time though, I just wanna take her aside and tell her "its all gonna be alright." Seriously, she just seems like shes in a lot of pain right now. I've never been a fan of hers and I wish she was thinking a little bit more about her two little kids, but when I see all those tabloid pix of her, I feel kinda sad.
Oh I see we've moved on.:)

Okay, I went to get my head shaved today. The lady said that she would make it really short because I have a really white head and she didn't want me blinding people in the parking lot. (can you believe the nerve?) But she may have had a point, I have to gradually work it down until I look like a cue ball so that my scalp is exposed to sun and won't be so blindingly white. It is really short, heh, I don't even have to use a comb!

Sure why not? Hair grows back and you'll know then if you like it or not.

oh, and it's good it's not summer yet, Joe knew this guy when he was in the marines that shaved his head bald, then worked all day in the sun and got sun poisoning, apparently his head literally swelled up like a balloon!
so be careful there ;-)

yeah, I have to keep getting it shorter eachtime, you would be able to see all the blue veins in my head. :-( Plus I'd reflect sun which could be dangerous. It'll get there.

Looks good. It'll be great to see it get shorter and shorter. I understand your concern about "glowing white skin" I have that problem with my legs each spring. I live in jeans so when I put shorts on I inadvertantly blind people everywhere I go....:cool2:

I swear the majority of moms around here go to tanning beds or something, no one stays that tan naturally, atleast no one truly caucasian and wearing sweaters!

NO, save yourself. I've had reall close haircuts, crew cuts and such. They suck, I like being able to part my hair on teh left in the morning, not feel a shiny tint of stubble on my head! Feels weird, like, foreign to me. I dunno...

I kind of enjoy the stubble. BTW, I got it a lot closer than in that pic. LOL @ my hotness. I was thinking about waxing my head, but I'm not sure how that would go, any waxing specialists out there that could give me some insight?

I heard that most skinhead blokes use thee ol 'Venus' Lady leg shaver on there heads everyday...extra smooth finish everytime :wink: just like those luuuurvly lady legs.....anyway eer yeah!

Shaving is better than a comb over, especially when the wind blows and the hair stands up up like a sail.... (Sorry, couldn't resist!)
You know, the latest is to use laser to stimulate the scalp. Perhaps give it a try before you shave it.
If that doesn't work, then shave, assuming that you have a good shaped head (and tans well). Some guys can really pull it off. Others, well.....
Buzzing it short is an option, but it all depends on where you're losing your hair.
