Basically, both Melinda and the whole bunch of fellow Jewel fans, are on a mission to try and convince the powers that be, to release an official DVD of all of Jewel's videos.

Yes, I asked someone to post it there as I'm not a member. I've been told it's up now. I believe some members from over there have already signed the petition which is great.

I've also emailed a few people to ask if they could post the link on their fansites and I'm trying to think of other ways to get the petition out there. I added it to my signature on here, Unedited and the EDA list. I plan on adding the link to other places too.

Everyone, please try and ask your friends and family to support your own request for this by asking them to also sign. It would be great to get as many signatures as possible.

It's gonna be tough getting my guy friends to sign it seeing as they don't really like her so I don't know if that would be cheating. I don't know why that would be cheating. We had dozens of friends and family members sign our Shania petition. As long as you don't actually do it for them, or start making up names, I don't see how it's cheating. It doesn't matter if they won't run out and buy it. I'm not sure that I would run out and buy it, but I still signed it for you. :)

It's simply a matter of my supporting the idea that it should be done.

I'm being patient- I'd say let's give this petition time and see how many signatures it accumulates. The rate now seems to be going slow yet sure and steady. And I just don't seen any reason why any member here wouldn't sign it. It takes no effort.

Could you please try telling the folks over at the World Jewel Forum to post a big notice about the petition? They have over 750 members-that's a lot of potential signatures!

Are you sure? There was one signature on the petition that read "The 750+ Members at the Jewel World Forum". Does that really count? Don't we need their signatures individually? If we could only convert that one signature into 750 individual signatures we'd be on easy street.

but actually we have 760 coz I've registered twice....

(Someone brought my attentention to your message Last Dance Rodeo)

They remove the email addresses of people who haven't posted after a few months from registration. They also reset the passwords.

When the person comes back to login, they can't and request their password. It asks them for an email address but of course...they've deleted it/replaced it whatever! Anyway, then it says that the email address cannot be found and to 'register again'. Bearing in mind, their account technically still exists.

its impossible... the mods/admins don't have access to members accounts.

And I'm pretty sure Excoboards auto-delete members if they haven't posted
after a certain time... if they do, we have no control over that...

I don't know if people have been deliberately misinforming people over here, but I have in the past gone several months without posting at the WJF and have had no problem with re-logging in afterwards. In my own experience the only time my account or anything having to do with my account has been deleted it has been at my own request.
I am not defending one forum over the other, I have friends on both, I am merely stating my own experience out of fairness.

Its now been made clear that Excoboards do not allow their admin/mods
to access their member's personal profiles nor passwords...
so its impossible for WJF mods to mess with member's accounts.

Chris has apologised for what he has said. Justin, I have sent you a reply to the email you sent me. You have shown that the statement by which administrators making changes is untrue so people can see for themselves.

With regards to the 'war' mentioned, there is no war. There just happens to be 2 forums covering the same topic - Jewel.

Just need to clear something up....Jewel was not dropped by Atlantic. Her contract was up and she decided not to renew it as she felt Atlantic were going in a different direction to where she wanted her music to go.

There has been some mention of this assumption online but Atlantic have continued to be very good to Jewel even since her contract ended.
