The album is hot
It is called counting down the days
I think it is her 3rd album I could be wrong...
She had Left in the middle, White Lillies and now this one..
The first single is a song called Shiver..
While it may not be the best song on the cd IT is defitnely worth checking out..

I forgot her other singles they weren't as succesful.
I hope she could break the one hit wonder status

This has been a very good year for me as far as artists go because so many that I love released records (or in the process of releasing) Jewel, Jann Ardin, ColdPlay, and a few others
By the way- Shawn I hope you didn't take offense at my outburst on the Ahslee Simpson thread, it wasn't anything personal- I shouldn't just have been put on the same planet with her :D And I only know Natalie by the Torn song, I haven't heard anything else by her
I have to check out her lyrics before I can say anything :P

Yeah, I've heard about the new Natalie Imbruglia album...I don't think I'll buy it, but I've heard "Shiver" and liked it. The only successful singles I remember from Natalie are "Torn" and "Wrong Impression".

Shiver is doing very well outside the us
That's where it's going to be difficult for it to get airplay and such.
I have called in the radio stations like 2 weeks ago and they didn't have it. Maybe now they do and it might finnaly get some airplay around here

I finally got this album and I have to agree Shawn, it is really good. I have always liked her but this is really raw for her. Quite easy listening but poignant lyrics.

Natalie isn't a one hit wonder in the UK :)

I've got all 3 of her albums - of course "Torn" was massive from "Left Of The Middle"... but follow up "Big Mistake" did pretty well too. From her second album "White Lillies Island", "That Day" and "Wrong Impression" also did pretty well... "Shiver" from the new album is, as far as i recall, the most played song on the radio in the UK this year! :clapjoy: I met her once too on MTV Videoclash Live on MTV:UK :D Happy memories!! :wub:

Talking of other artists - it's a cracking week for new albums next week - Sheryl Crow, Katie Melua, The Corrs and - if anyone remembers her - Shelly Poole, who used to be in Alisha's Attic (a criminally underrated band, way ahead of their time in my humble opinion!)

How is the song Counting Down the days doing in the uk.
I know she just relased it as a 2nd single recently and it sounded reallly goood.
I wasn't to crazy about the video but you know she is loooking reallly goood these days.

Well it is doing really well here in Ireland. Not sure of the exact chart number but last time I checked, it was 12 in the charts but it was down on being number 7 previously. It is played all the time in the radio here and I can't help but sing along to it. Really good song. Haven't seen the video yet.

I have Natalie's previous albums but it took me a while to buy this one because i'd heard it wasn't that great. So upon listening to it for the first time I wasn't expecting much...........but I really really like it. And I can't understand why people slated it. Anyone know hwre it got to in the UK album chart?

It entered the UK album chart at #1 on it's first week of release, selling 41,000 copies :) (and slipped to #5 the week after)

And I think I'm going to give it a spin on my iPod.... now! :)

but... anyways... i remember that song from a long time ago... i used to call it "The I'm Lying Naked on the Floor Song"... its too poppy for me. but i do agree, she has a beautiful voice.

i'll listen to the album clips next time at Barnes & Nobles and if i like it i will buy it, so un-shame myself from downloading 'torn'

Hehe, it's a classic in my eyes, "Torn" - probably one of my favourite tracks ever... well, it's definitely up there anyway :)

"torn" was up there as a hit in the 90's one of those that everyone will hear on the radio from time to time and be like WOW I remember the summer that this song was a huge hit.

Yeah but Natalie Imbruglia is really incredible I am waiting for her to release another single I am to impateint.
It is ashame she doesn't get more airplay over this way

none of my friends know the song by the title "Torn", they know it by "The I'm Naked on the Floor Song", which, i think, it shouldve been called. I played it for a few of my friends and they are like "Isn't this Fiona Apple????"
