I can't believe it, our enormously fat gerbil -appropriately named "Fatty" died yesterday at an unknown time! I was going to look at his cute chubby little gerbil cheeks and noticed him -sleeping- near his water bottle...well I look closer and he didn't appear to be breathing, shook the cage and he didn't move, and then had to face the fact that he was gone to gerbil paradise where girl gerbils are nice to himinstead of trying to attack and kill him. He was almost cute, laying on his stomach like a little gerbil rug. Well, until I had to place his stiffening body into a candle box casket...

However our 2 girls gerbils (in a seperate cage so it wasn't gerbil homicide) are still alive and well, and our 2 cats are fine, so that is good anyways!

Ah poor thing. Obese gerbils...lol. Sorry, couldn't help giggling slightly at that.

At least he went in his sleep. How were the girls?

Anja was VERY upset, last night anyways, but Corinne didn't seem too phased by it.

I was a little horrified by the idea that maybe I overfed him and his little heart gave out, but now when I think of him all I see is Marc's picture, which btw looks just like him, but not as fat-lol

Poor little Fatty & McNuggett!!! May they be at peace wherever their little souls are...

Andrea, I used to have pet fancy rats. Yes, RATS (some people despise them I know!). But they are actually pretty smart, will come to their name, and learn tricks! Anyway, I had a cute little rat named Rizzy (it would've been named Rizzo, Gary, but it was a girl rat). Rizzy was cream & white colored and was very sweet. She looked almost exactly like this one:

One day I noticed a bump on her belly. I called a vet's office and they said it was probably a tumor, and that they're common in pet rats. To have them removed was pricey, would come back quickly, and they may not live through the anesthesia. So we decided to give her an enjoyable life until it was time. The tumor kept growing and toward the end it was the size of a walnut. She started having seizures and that's when I knew it was time to put her to sleep. During this time we had moved 1600 miles away to Florida. She made it all the way to Florida with us before I put her down. She was a highly traveled rat, I'd say!

I guess what I'm trying to say here is that at least Fatty went quickly and didn't have to suffer. For that, you can be glad. Chances are he didn't feel a thing, just probably went to sleep and that was it. Sorry about your beloved gerbil...

Yeeucgh!!! Cheap food and cheap beer...not a nice mix! you'll not need the jumper cables, prepare for a very cheap funeral :tongue: gaah i hate fast food..its the equivalent of 'road kill'. besides, i still thing good ol McNuggett found a hot sexy McNuggettess :wink:
