Ireland got it's first big snow of the year and I happen to be one of the lucky ones to live high enough for it to stick.

It was beautiful today.

This pic was taken this morning before heading out to work. It was trecherous but I still made it safely:

This is what it looked like when we got home

And this is my JKF Snowman:

I know...he's a bit sad looking but he's a snowman nonetheless

Beautiful, simply beautiful.

I'm in the Deep SOuth, theh Southern Untied States where I've never seen snow here. We got about one inch at our worst winter in twenty years, but we were all outside trying to grab the falling snow and I thought I could bottle it, but that clearly did not work out well, I got Liquid Ice, which is just another word for water.

Never seen real snow in person, wish I was where you are. That would be lvoely. I hahve a cold weathehr wardrobe that I've never gotten to use, like trenchcoats and overcoats, and my older military issue field jackets, but I've got no practical use for them!

Then again, I bet you wish you were here...."Where exactly is here?" you say, in South Carolina, where the weather is warm and the oceans are always roaring. BTW, my comment on swimming in the ocean in December. I CAN DO IT, THAT DOESN'T MEAN I WANT TO! I've had some aquatic and survival training, eating worms and bugs and such. I can swim in 2 degrees Celsius water, but that doesn't mean I desire to, I'd read be lighting a fire in my house to stay warm.

No offence, but I don't want to be anywhere else. I simply adore Ireland so much and especially where I live out in the rolling hills of the countryside. I'm a city girl born and bred though, raised in bussling Dublin to find solace and peace 2 years ago in glorious County Wicklow, the Garden of Ireland.

After having a bit of fun in the snow and finishing some work I brought home, I had a beef stew on the stove, had a lovely relaxing bath then got up to a glorious blazing fire my husband started and relaxed the evening in sheer comfort. There's nothing like a good Irish stew on a freezing cold day in front of the fire. It was really lovely.

Nice ,haven't got to see snow this year ,Down here in Fort Lauderdale still hanging out after the Super Bowl, got shorts on the temp is 75 awsome but I grew up on farm in New York and I loved the snow and the cold days with a fire, just the smell of wood burning puts me in daze.See what you started,I think life is better with a change seasons,it's like one long summer vacation down here...beef stew and sour dough bread sounds like plan...

Well, its cold where I'm at, but no snow, thank God. The last time it snowed, I was probably eleven or twelve, and tried to bottle it in a Mason's jar. SO, later on I had liquid ice, whihch is just another word for water.

LIke I said, I was eleven or twelve, didn't really think about it melting in minutes.

Kiera, I'm glad to hear that you are enjoying your day, and yes, some Irish food is REALLY good. My preference being Shepherd's pie or a hot plate of banger and mash, with plenty of mash.
