So has Jewel officialy said she will release her country album independently or do you think she will shop for a new record deal? Can't wait to see what happens.

I have a feeling she's already signed with Warner Bros.-Nashville....that's who's sponsoring Nashville Star.

I have a feeling she has already signed a 1 album contract with a record label for the sole purpose of making this album.

^^there's no proof of that as of yet.
OH GOD NO!!!!
Look at all the bad stuff that happens when I leave for a few days!
If someone actually knows Jewel or has a connection with her somehow, please tell her to NOT go to Warner Bros.
Warner Bros. reaps all of the funds from musical artist's sales. Prime example, we all remember Purple Rain in the 80's, yes? Prince did the movie and soundtrack and only got 8 per cent of the profits, actually less than 8 per cent, he actually made more money off his latest album 3121, independently signed on and released in March 2006, than he has since Purple Rain came out. Purple Rain has been out and selling copies for twenty years, and in one year, Prince has made more money with 3121, the album, than he was in twenty years with Pruple Rain!
This sounds crazy, but if someone can contact Jewel before she signs on with them, I know Little Bird said she knew some people, you'd be wrong to not do so.
BTW, Warner Bros. NEVER issues a single one time, one album deal! Never happened, never will.

If someone doesn't alert her, then her new album will be for nothing....NOTHING!!!!

I would be surprised if it's Warner Bros. I'd be more inclined to think she'd go with a more Country label like MCA Nashville which is a subsidiary of Universal. Just my opinion though. Who knows?

Like I mentioned before, Warner Bros-Nashville (notice I said **Nashville**) is who's sponsoring Nashville Star. Warner Brothers has its own Nashville/country music subsidary. Faith Hill is also signed to WB-N (and many other popular country artists) and has had much success with them. I think it's a good place for a country artist...and for our Jewel!

I'm not sure. They also have The Wreckers and Michelle Branch said if she and Jessica Harp had their saying, their album would have been much more bluegrass than it is already. So, I'm not sure Jewel wants that for her.

The Wreckers label is Maverick.

If you look at the WBN site, it shows The Wreckers on it.

I don't know about Warner Bros. I just smell disaster rising! Look at the Prince example I gave you, all of that is true and Warner Bros. admits to it!
God be with Jewel, or should I say "God Save The Jewel". I like that. Good sound.
