Singer-songwriter Jewel (bio | tickets | CDs - DVDs - books) takes a break from work on her next album to mount late-spring/early summer acoustic run.

The outing launches June 15 in Denver, and stops are planned in nine cities throughout Colorado and California by month's end. The itinerary--which is shown below--includes two-night stands in San Diego and Saratoga, CA.

Members of Jewel's official fan club have access to tickets before the general public; details are available at Jewel's website.

Jewel will have a chance to warm up for the run with a May 3 performance in New York City at "The Event to Prevent." Sponsored by The Candie's Foundation, the concert aims to raise awareness about teen pregnancy.

Jewel's most recent album is 2003's "0304." She's currently in the studio working on a follow-up, which is slated for release in September, according to Atlantic Records.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of Jewel's debut album, "Pieces of You."

Jewel Returns To Road With Acoustic Shows

NEW YORK (Atlantic Records/ www.jeweljk.com) - Atlantic recording artist Jewel returns to the road for a series of solo acoustic concerts on the West Coast in June. The dates are as follows:

In other news, Jewel is currently in the studio working on her sixth album, slated for release in September. 2005 marks the tenth anniversary of the release of Jewel's debut album, "PIECES OF YOU" - which was followed by "SPIRIT" (1998), "JOY: A HOLIDAY COLLECTION" (1999), "THIS WAY" (2001), and "0304" (2003). The latter debuted at No 2 on the Billboard 200 album chart, marking the both the highest-debuting and highest-charting album of Jewel's career to date. All together, Jewel's five albums have sold over 25 million copies worldwide.

Yep. I suspect they are all based on the same press release. It's interesting to see the Jewel publicity people winding up after a long break. As soon as I get my hands on the source I'll post that too. At least each site changes the wording around a little. ;)
