I was just curious to know if the EDAs are still active?? I know the website is still up and all, but wasn't sure. It seemed like it hadn't been updated for awhile. I missed out on the whole EDA thing back then, and really wish know I could've been a part of it. Thanks for any info!

Yep - I'm an active EDA but I think people kinda knew that. There aren't as many people as there used to be but there are still a fair amount that contribute. It is just a very old fashioned way of doing things and fills your mailbox but is a brilliant source of info and discussion.

Yep, I'm on the EDA list too! I've been on there for a long time (but not as long as some!). It's definitely worth checking out! The archives are worth reading, too. :)

Are you only an EDA when you are subscribed to those mailinglist, or when you have some angelfood/performances of jewel? Or only when you were on a jewelconcert? Or are you an EDA when you write with other jewelfans? What takes it to be an eda? :)

Merio-
I think EDA's has evolved to be Jewel's online fans...whether they be from the mailing list or from forums.
Check out this message she sent to (via someone else) to the mailing list in 1995!

It's in this message that she dubs the online Jewel mailing list to be the "Everyday Angels" because of how important her internet fan following was in 1995 when even PoY hadn't hit the mainstream. :)

I've read this before....but I don't know where! Very cool! :-) Thanks for putting that up!
Thanks for your info, everyone. I'm gonna go surf some more through the EDA site!
Would anyone happen o have the URL or HTML that I can go to to directly sign up for this. I would like to be a member, and to donate funds for this noble charitable cause. Thank you again,
Anchors Aweigh,
Jones

Hey Vansciver,
What about this one. Doesn't this present more of what Jewel meant.

Thank you again.

Oh, sorry Jones, I thought you were asking about the mailing list we were discussing. Yes, the EDAF is great as well. It originated from members of the EDA Mailing List (see the FAQ (http://www.edaf.org/FAQs.htm)).
They have a PayPal link for donating to the EDAF on their main website. :)
Thank you again Vansciver. I just wanted to be able to donate some funds to a reputable and charitable organization. I am also looking at the Clearwater Foundation. I just would rally like to do my part, as a productive citizen, and would like to donate funds to something that will be meaningful and help others, and also help my own pride and give me comfort, knowing that I am doing something.
By the way, Vansciver and Little Bird, I did a Google search for "Everyday Angels". A million different pages popped up, including:
http://www.quackquack.net/jewel/
http://www.everydayangels.co.uk/
http://www.smoe.org/lists/jewel/angels/
Okay, you get the point. Which one is the original list used at the very beginning? Which web page is the REAL, OFFICIAL Jewel group that is the Everyday Angels. I am donating money to the Everyday Angel association, you'll find my post in theis thhread (one of them, I don't remember) has the adddress. Can you paste the URL of whaht is the REAL EDA page? Thank you again, you're very kind.

So Jones,
I think you may be a bit confused. The Everyday Angels is just a mailing list (no donations, nor charity necessary). It began a long time ago... It's hosted on Smoe.org and the list "owner" is Mike Connell. He also runs the webpage http://www.quackquack.net/jewel/
The actual mailing list (if you'd like to sign up) is just a discussion list with most posts centering on Jewel. You can find sign up information here:
http://www.quackquack.net/jewel/threever.htm
If you'd like to actually donate money to an organization, I would go with http://www.edaf.org/ which was organized by members of the mailing list mentioned above. You can also check out 2 charity links on the links page of jeweljk.com
I've never heard of the UK-based EDA site that you posted and I don't think it is related to the EDA's that we have been referring to (though it may also be an organization worthy of a donation.
I hope this helped clarify. :)
