You give yourself too much credit, Mike. I'm not trying to start a fight or debate, but you do realize that before Jewel changed managers most people still knew more before Mr.BB announced stuff, right? I think you guys just need to keep in mind that no one knows what's going on behind the scenes, just like we didn't know anything when Nedra was still Jewel's manager.

Hey, you're probably right. Still this kind of thing takes months of planning to pull together and we all find out about the presales after they have started. I mean what's up with that? Two more San Diego dates go on presale tomorrow.

It's just odd. I take no credit, but I did just give them a hard time today about 1) not telling unedited members more than a day ahead and 2) Not sending out an E-mail to everybody on the mailing list before they announce it in ticketmaster. Then within a couple of hours they finally send out an E-mail. Coincidence? Perhaps, but it's certainly strange.

Don't get me wrong. I'm really glad to be able to see Jewel this summer! I've got to decide if I will drive to California or wait to see if they will announce a date closer to me soon. I'll probably just go to California. San Diego is a beautiful place to visit and June is a nice month.

Hey Mike, plz go to the Thousand Oaks one, I live in Thousand Oaks and it is a really nice suburb and a half an our away from the beach, plus I'll finally meet ASPCJ leader dude. Its at the Civics art plaza Kalvi Theatre and I am in several plays and musicals and I have performed in it many times and it is awesome.

Plus, does anyone know if it Acoustic or Full Band????

Hey time out. I'm NOT the leader of the ASPCJ! ** I'm just a lone American hitchhiker and sometimes "decaying corpse on the side of the road." The Intrpid Prez is and always will be the one and only Justin.

I lived in Riverside for 7 years before I moved to Vegas so I know So. Cal pretty well. I've travelled throughout. Thousand Oaks seems like a fine place, but for me it all comes down to the day of the week. My son's school is on a year round track schedule so he's in school this year through the whole darn summer until Late August thanks to our oh-so-efficient school district. I can't go to a concert in California on a Tuesday. Saturday I can do, maybe a Friday, but not a Tuesday. Plus on top of that I need to work. :(

**I was however once named as "Mike, Noble Knight of the Kilcherians" by Justin.

i hope i can convince my friend, but he's not the biggest jewel fan, and i convinced him two days ago we should leave LA earlier than planned in order to have more time for the rest of the trip...

how big is that thousand oaks venue ???

I'd just like to say that I wish she'd get away from California already! :( She's done dozens of shows there and has barely been anyplace else. Jewel, you have fans in other parts of the US also! Come here! :( Before anyone asks... no, I have never seen her live. :(

By the way, Mike, I'm sure Musictoday was simply just doing their job. They most likely would've sent the email at the exact same time even if you hadn't said anything. Because, you know, what's the point in having a presale if no one knows about it? I agree that it is late notice, but I'm sure they'll lets us know about the rest of the presale dates ahead of time. As always, we'll have to wait and see. :)

....GUTTED :-(

Its sooooooooo unfair, why cant Jewel just come and play a gig in Cambridge , we have a lovely town hall with lots of wooden chairs and we could even arrange a raffle at half time! - Even the old age pensioners could have there jumble sale outside. Jewel could sign autographs over a nice sup of tea!

'Tell ya what Jewel, If you come to England i will personally show you around my Crib....well cowshed lol, and take you for a meal at the best McDonalds in Suffolk, there, cant say fairer than that.'

ps, if anyone posts any pics of themselves with M's Kilcher after one of these so called concerts in the US i will....i will, .... get Kiera to ban them lol.

Once again, I do not see the benefit of presales as she doesn't even make it to this part of the world. Hopefully there will be a few dates this year over here or in the UK at least. That way, I could get a cheap flight over to the UK. Getting one over to the US is out of my budget.

Patience is a virtue I suppose.

Carbs, Protein, Fats. It's all good. I'm a firm believer in the eat what tastes great diet by Doctor Feelgood. New research prooves that fat and flavor are joined together at the molecular level. Ever notice that every doctor that tries to tell you about diets looks like he eats only iceburg lettuce and carrot sticks? It's a conspiracy I tell you. Never trust a skinny chef or any doctor who makes his living off selling diet books. And let's not forget that Doctor Atkins is DEAD! B) :P

E-bay has it's uses, but I've found that used items from amazon.com are a great deal. I've bought single-CD's, and books for real cheap. Plus on Amazon.com when you buy a used CD or book the shipping costs are very low. I find that many E-bay sellers jack up the shipping and handling costs way too much. I've see E-bay sellers charge $10 fixed price to ship a CD? I don't think so.

michaelsjewel
04-01-2005, 12:31 AM
my shipping was 4.50 for 3 cd's ...and that's what's on the outside of the label sent to me - so u know they didn't overcharge me...in fact......that 4.50 shipping charge was more than what i paid (i paid 4 for shipping) - but considering what i had to bid to win the cd's...um.....i guess they gave me a discount! lol

Sounds like you did pretty good. I still recommend people check Amazon.com before they bid on E-bay. You don't need to wait for the auction to end,The items usually ship real quick, you know the total right up front, they have lots of items including import CD's with extra tracks, and they seem safer than your typical E-bay transaction.

I've bought plenty of items on E-bay. I'm just saying to give amazon.com a try. You can get new CD singles for 99 cents plus two or three dollars for shipping. Sometimes brand new items are only $0.50 more than used ones.

It's also a really good place to buy books at a discount. I'll never pay full price again.

10! That's late morning for me. God love ya for having to get up half way through a morning to go out a buy tickets for a Jewel concert. Boy I wish I had that complaint.

On another note, giving too much praise is very bad for the ego so we like to keep things low key here. But in spite of all that, with words inspired by british band THANK YOU BOBBY from the bottom of my pencilcase. You truly are an inspiration to all. :P

In more seriousness, it is great to see people being active and to see Jewel at least playing gigs again. Always good to hear!

Hey, the presales in rows 11-20 were only $85 and I think that included the fees. It's only $29.95 to join per year if you are in the US.

The VIP 5 star package was $195 with meet and greet, T-shirt, sticker, and tickets in the first ten rows.

The 4 star package costs only $5 per ticket over going to ticketmaster, but you get to be in the first 20 rows (or are you closer than that) and you don't get the keychain? Seems like unedited is a better deal to me unless I'm missing something. Ticketmaster is notorious for charging extra fees - parking fee, convenience fee, venue fee, plus sales tax for in-state purchases... It's why Grateful Dead fans almost always refered to Ticketmaster as "Ticket:censored::censored::censored::censored::censored::censored::censored:."

Anyway congrats on scoring the tickets. We're going the the San Diego show. Woo hoo.

emilie_eda
04-02-2005, 07:43 AM
yeah I noticed that buying that 4 star package might be a good deal, and you don't have to join unedited to buy the package, because I'm not a member anymore and I received an email with a password to be able to buy the 5 or 4 star packages...but the thing is you have to be a US citizen or canadian to buy one of these....I still don't understand why...

and i have another silly question, but for thousand oaks, ticketmaster is charging a 7$ building facility charge per ticket (which apparently is for the parking), so we won't have to pay another 7$ to park our car there or will we ??

At the Plaza, there is parking near the Scherr Forum Theater (The Small Theater) and it is a short walk to the Kalvi Theater. They have a huge multi-story parking facility that I dont think you have to pay to park in, but I may be mistaken. I have never had to park there for the 2004 Jewel Concert there, but for all the smaller Scherr Forum shows its free. But be prepared to fork over 7 bucks to park there, or youll have to park on the street and walk :(

She's coming to Toronto only in July! I probably won't have enough money to go and see her, but I can't wait for her to be promoting her new album on music channels and radio, I miss seeing her
