I really like it though I doubt the 30 sec sample doesn't do it justice. Need to hear the full thing. Listening to that makes the song sound out of tempo a little but i'd say the full version doesn't sound like that at all.
Good find, Shawn!

Just read this at this link (http://www.variety.com/awardcentral_article/VR1117956542.html?nav=news&categoryid=1985&cs=1) published at variety.com on 2nd January
"In my lifetime, I've seen the record industry taken to its knees," says singer-songwriter Jewel, whose current album, "Goodbye Alice in Wonderland," has paled next to her 1996 debut album "Pieces of Me," which shipped 12 million units. "When I was first signed at 19, the idea was that one sold records. Now there is no hope of money by signing for a record. You do it as promotion."
This awards season, she co-wrote and sang "Quest for Love" for Luc Besson's "Arthur and the Invisibles" soundtrack, the ninth single she's written for film, beginning with Sean Penn's 1995 pic "The Crossing Guard."
"In the last year, I performed on TV shows, since radio isn't playing my genre," Jewel adds, "nor are record companies developing artists like me; they're going for the easy cool thing."
Though platinum acts can fetch anywhere from $500,000 and up for contributing a tune to film, both artists and studios admit that they're not in bed with each other just to crowbar a musician's B song into a pic's end credits.

While what she said is sad, it is true nonetheless. I think had GAIW been released at a different musical "time" it would've been Grammy material & very popular. Of course I do feel it's Grammy material, but unfortunately album sales do play a part in the nominations. The sales weren't there. Getting a record deal doesn't mean much anymore, the money just isn't there. Thanks to the digital age...our own technology is drastically changing the economy and not just in music...

I hate when they type-o Pieces of you as Pieces of Me, this isn't ashlee simpson... but anyway I like what she said and I like how realistic she is about it, but then she's Jewel, she's realistic about everything.

That's why I think Jewel isn't too concerned with commercial success anymore, in fact I don't think she ever has. All she wants is to be happy and make the kind of music she enjoys, with real creative freedom. I think it's cool that she's more concerned with the quality & integrity of music rather than the almighty dollar. I don't worry anymore about whether her albums go platinum or not, it's all about the amazing music she makes for us! I'm glad she's not staying with Atlantic for this reason....

I never have really cared how the sales go as far as the record industry and all goes or how popular she really is, but I do want her albums to do well for her sake. But as long as there's enough of us out there still buying her stuff I think that's great.
