Hi everyone,
Was wondering if anyone had any info on Jewel's concert in Joliet on November 28. Tickemaster says tickets go on sale Oct. 27 to the general public with a pre-sale on Oct. 25. I am a member of the fanclub so I want to purchase through the pre-sale if possible for better seats. On the unedited website it says N/A for pre-sale. Any help would be appreciated!
Cheers,
Ashley

I don't think it's a Unedited pre-sale. Unfortunately, depending on the venue, Unedited cannot always secure a presale. Sometimes the venue, organisers, sponsors or even event managements get that priority, dependins on the venue and who is organising it.

that sucks, i just got my membership renewed for pre-sales. UGH!!!

Little Bird

Renewing membership just for pre-sales, is a real gamble for this tour. They haven't been given as many rights to presales this time so it is disappointing that they haven't been able to guarantee.

But they have had quite a few presales so far but I suppose it's only worth it if you can get the presale you want.

Will the radio presale give away or sell the best seats? Do you recommend going through ticketmaster when they go onsale to the public online or calling Rialto direct to order tickets?

Little Bird

You'll be happy to know there is a Unedited presale for this show tomorrow.

Please checkout the news section on the Unedited website for further details!! They'll be the best place for tickets if you're a member.

Awesome, I will try and get on tomorrow around lunch time to get tickets. How quick do presales through the fan club usually last before they sell out? Also, can a member get four tickets? Last but not least, if I remember right, aren't the seats usually within the first 10 rows?

Thanks,

Grant

Can somebody tell me how far away Joliet IL is to St. Louis MO? I think this is my chance to see her! YES! Im not sure, I hope it is close :( Anyone know?

Grant N

It's basically Chicago. A suburb.

How quick do presales through the fan club usually last before they sell out?
Depends on the venue. It varies. They usually only run a pre-sale for 1 day. It is unlikely that they will be allocated ALL tickets for the show. Most likely a limited number.
Also, can a member get four tickets?
Not sure because it can be different depending on the venue. I know people have bought 4 in the past. You'll probably find out quicker than me anyway when you check today.
Last but not least, if I remember right, aren't the seats usually within the first 10 rows?
Usually, yes. But sometimes it is a first 20 row guarantee. Again, depending on the venue.

Got mine today. 8th Row center! Now, question is...is this a Christmas show!? It's Jewel w/Orchestra. Anybody know?

Ashley
10-25-2006, 12:35 AM
I got mine too! Tenth row, just off center! I wouldn't think it would be strictly a Christmas show, but I wouldn't be suprised if she did some Christmas songs. Either way...I can't wait!

Here's some info about this show...

Included in these dates is a stop on November 28th at the Rialto Square Theatre in Joliet, IL where the members of the Chicagoland Pops Orchestra conducted by GRAMMY® award winning Arnie Roth will join Jewel on stage for an unforgettable evening. The show will be filmed for a two hour PBS concert special documentary and will also be used in an upcoming February Soundstage episode.

I have seen her in concert several times....about half and half with a band and solo. I'm not sure what to expect with an orchestra. Can you give me some insight? Will she play the guitar at all or will the orchestra do all the music playing? Will she do some of her faster songs, or will it be all mainly slower songs like she does when she is solo?

Any insight you can give me is much appreciated!

They send tickets out within 2 weeks of the show. They are sent by a vendor e.g. Ticketmaster, usually. They don't actually sell the tickets themselves but through vendors.

You can contact customerservice@musictoday.com if you'd like to ask more about it. I will also follow through with an email to the fanclub manager. What's your Unedited username?

I am starting to get a little concerned as well since I haven't received the tickets yet for the Joliet show. I know they send them out two weeks before the show, I just hope Thanksgiving doesn't get in the way and delay things....

About the orchestra performing with her. Not sure what to expect there, does this mean she will be able to do some of her faster songs that requires a band? Is an orchestra strictly strings, or do they have drums as well? Look forward to seeing it, just don't know what to expect.

I guess I’m the first one to post about last night. It was an amazing show. Allot of older stuff…she must have been feeling nostalgic! Since they were taping for an upcoming episode of ‘Soundstage’ she did an extra long set…the majority of it solo and then at the end with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. I overheard one of the sound engineers say it should be on PBS in about 10 weeks or so. She looked and sounded amazing. “I’m Sensitive” was particularly fun because the Orchestra picked out the guitar parts on their violins…very cool…Set list is below…not in complete order (except for the Orchestra part)…

Near You Always
Passing Time
1000 Miles Away
Little Sister
Morning Song
Life Uncommon
Rosy & Mick
Stephenville, TX
Race Car Driver
The New Wild West
Sometimes It Be That Way
Grey Matter
Violet Eyes
Get Ready Boy – New Song
Cold Song
Break Me
Foolish Games
You Were Meant For Me
Who Will Save Your Soul

With Orchestra:

Goodbye Alice in Wonderland
I’m Sensitive
Hands
Intuition
Satellite
Anything Goes – Cole Porter Song

Somewhere Over The Rainbow
Per La Gloria d’Adorari
Chime Bells

the correct order...I did a pretty go job remembering if I do say so myself :o)

'Get Ready Boy' is brand new...I think she only played it once before and 'Anything Goes' is an old Cole Porter song...

JewelWiki

Anything Goes is a song originally written by Cole Porter for a musical by the same name. I think it's also sung by Ella Fitzgerald on the Ella Fitzgerald sings the Cole Porter songbook album. (Link 1 (http://www.jewelwiki.com/pmwiki.php?n=Songs.AnythingGoes)) and (Link 2 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anything_Goes)).

Get Ready Boy is new--just premiered on this leg of the tour. Although you can hear it briefly in the behind the scenes segment of her Stripped performance. Lyrics and performance info can be found on the wiki (Link (http://www.jewelwiki.com/pmwiki.php?n=Songs.GetReadyBoy))

If anyone has any knowledge of when this concert will air on PBS- it would be greatly appreciated!!! Also- if the DVD does come out- they have to leave in the part where the audience tried to clap along and was so very, very off beat with Jewel- it was hilarious!!!!

It would be awesome if this concert was released on DVD in the future, hopefully the very near future,we have not had a live DVD to drool over since 'LIVE AT HUMPHREY'S'.
Jewel has since released lots of new material and it would be fantastic to see her live again, there are lots of us who rely on live DVD's or TV appearances of Jewel as we live in Europe, and a tour future over here is only a dream at the moment,so an up to date Live DVD would be a great temporary fix for all of us,let's hope it happens !
I absolutely love watching her sing and play acoustic guitar live, she seems to be at her best that way, relaxed, comfortable, really in her zone, you know what i mean?
Listening to her CD'S is great, but watching Jewel sing her songs, showing her true emotions, the descriptive facial expressions, the intimate connection she has with her audience etc,you feel the songs in a different way,you understand the lyrics more when you watch her performing her songs.
Does anyone else agree?
Thanks for the pics, she looks lovely as usual,WOW!
Cheers,Crawfy !!!
